Positives- we enjoyed the covered porch and the view of the lake and the fire pit out back. Interior- living room is a good size, but kitchen is super tiny and all the counter space, what little there is, is taken up with a microwave making it difficult to cook and clean up. There were only 3 dinner forks for our party of 4. Interior of cottage was clean, but exterior needs a pressure wash- windows filthy. poison ivy growing near fire pit. Front steps are very unven and landscaping is overgrown covering the steps. I had not been to Deep Creek before and Garrett Highway (in front of the cottage) is a super busy road with cars flying at 50 mph all the time. Even though there is a bike path, I was nervous on my morning walks. We loved Deep Creek State Park and some of the nearby restaurants. Brenda's Pizza was delicious. We also enjoyed lunch at Aces Run and Dinner at Uno's. Great food. We would like to visit again but will rent something on the other side of the lake where it is quieter. Overall we had fun and Moonwinks met our needs.

Small Cottage with Lake View

This small cottage was perfect for a quick weekend trip with our two small children. The house could have been cleaner inside and we had to clean all deck furniture to use it, but didn’t let it ruin our time. Lake view, great location, easy to get to all restaurants and activities Deep Creek has to offer. Be aware that there is no AC, but there are ceiling fans in every room and the bedroom windows open. We would stay again and just cross our fingers that the cleaning service is better next time.
