About this property
Fall Vibes - Hot Tub & Fire Place - Mountain Views - Minutes to Chattanooga
Nestled in the heart of nature's grandeur, this beautiful suite offers a haven of comfort and awe-inspiring views. It's a sanctuary where modern luxury meets the tranquility of the great outdoors.
Unwind in the hot tub, take a dip in the pool, lounge in the cabana with stunning mountain views, and end the day making gooey s'mores with the kids as the sun sets in a beautiful blaze of color. This property is perfect for 2-4 guests, 5 with a baby.
THE SUITE:
Make yourself at home in this charming lower-level guest suite. A Suite Retreat features a full kitchen, cozy living room, comfortable bedroom, spacious bathroom, and private laundry room—everything you need for a relaxing and convenient getaway.
Heads up—we’re preparing for an exciting upgrade: a brand-new deck is on the way! While the preparation phase isn’t always the prettiest, rest assured that guests still have full access to all outdoor amenities, including the fire pit, dining area, and cabana. The side yard may have a bit of that “in progress” look (there is dirt where the old deck used to be) , but everything remains clean, safe, and welcoming. We’re thrilled to keep improving the space for our guests!
GUEST ENTRANCE:
With a private entrance and its own driveway, you will feel like you have entered your own home. The entrance has a key in a lockbox. You may check-in and out and out at any time.
LIVING ROOM:
The living room, kitchen, and dining table/island have an open floor plan.
As you enter, there is a remote for the light for the living room on the frame of the doorway. This is also used to control the ceiling fan.
A tray on the coffee table has local guides/pamphlets and a notebook for our guests to leave their own experiences to share with us and future guests.
A photo gallery wall features some of our favorite places in Chattanooga. There are so many fun things to do in the area. We love it when people share pictures with us of their adventures!
There is a 55-inch Smart TV, DVD player, magazines, and extra blankets in the TV console.
Relax on the couch or pull it out for a queen-size bed with a gel mattress. The bedding and pillows for the sleeper sofa are in the laundry area.
KITCHEN:
• Coffee and Tea station - coffee (regular & decaf), tea, hot cocoa, cream, and sugar included. There is a Keurig and a French Press available to you. There is a filtered water pitcher in the refrigerator.
• Bar station - wine glasses, a bottle opener, an ice bucket, bar tools, etc.
• Ample cooking and dining ware, with salt, pepper, spices, cooking spray, and olive oil.
• Stainless steel appliances; an electric range, microwave, a refrigerator with filtered water and ice in the door.
BEDROOM:
The bedroom has an incredibly comfortable king-size bed.
Black-out curtains, earplugs, and a ceiling fan are available to ensure you have an amazing night's sleep.
WORKSPACE:
There is a desk with a comfy office chair, a lamp, a charging station, and basic supplies.
We have super-fast internet. High-speed fiber runs to the house.
BATHROOM:
The bathroom has a blow dryer, a handheld mirror, and shelves full of towels, washcloths, and hand towels.
There is a basket full of additional toiletries if you have forgotten anything. Feel free to take what you need but please leave the rest for the next guests. Thank you so much!
Need a relaxing shower after a long hike? Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are available to you.
BRINGING THE BABY? :) (We love kids!)
There is a Pack and Play and a high chair available if you would like to use them. We just ask that when you leave, please leave it out so we can clean and inspect it (for safety purposes) before storing them. Please let us know if you would like to use these items and we will put them in the suite for you.
LAUNDRY:
There is a washer and dryer available along with the supplies needed to do laundry. There is also an iron and ironing board in case you need to get really fancy. ;) Non-slip and pant hangers are there if you want to use them.
There are brooms and a vacuum in the laundry area, and basic cleaning supplies above the kitchen sink (to keep out of reach of the littles). We do not expect you to clean during your stay, but these items are available to you if you would like to use them.
OUTDOORS:
The property sits on 1.3 acres. In the yard, there are blueberry bushes, grape vines, apple, pear, peach, pecan, and plum trees. There are also 25+ rose bushes, other types of trees, shrubs, and flowers all around the property. You will see many happy bees pollinating and lots of birds flying about. In the spring, there are many bird nests in the ferns in the cabana. So if you see birds frequently in that area, they likely have eggs or babies there. So cute!
THE HOT TUB:
The hot tub is open year-round. It seats up to 6 people. It is WONDERFUL!
The towels for the hot tub and pool are in the laundry area.
We take care of the chemicals and clean the spa regularly, so you may see us down there maintaining it during your stay. :)
THE POOL:
The pool is 18 ft. wide x 36 ft. long, is 8 ft. deep at the deep end, and is chlorinated. It is not heated.
There are beautiful magnolia trees and mountain views from the pool. It is cleaned and chemicals are balanced very frequently. We also use a mechanical pool cleaner which is in the deck box in the gazebo. We take care of all pool maintenance. The pool area is fenced for safety. There is a lock on the inside of the gate.
There are 4 pool-side lounge chairs (with arms so you can get out of them easily) with tables between them for drinks, towels, or whatever you may need.
Please treat our equipment with respect and care if you use it.
In the winter we cover the pool, as it is not heated. The pool is typically open from mid-March – October.
The poolside gazebo/cabana has outdoor furniture which is great for lounging, afternoon naps, or casual dining. Perfect if you would like to get out of the sun for a bit or curl up with a glass of wine or sweet tea (hey, it's the South!) and read a good book while the kids play in the pool.
THE PATIO:
Want a cozy fire and a cocktail or S’mores with the kids? Dining al fresco? The patio area is stocked with a propane fire table, 4 lounge chairs, and an outdoor dining area. A mural wall has been painted to showcase the beautiful mountains in the area.
THE GRILL:
We have a propane grill and grilling tools for you to show off those mad grilling skills! We also have some basic seasonings (salt, pepper, lemon pepper, Lawry's salt, and olive oil).
OVERALL:
The space is designed with you in mind - you are encouraged to have fun, enjoy your time, soak in the views (along with the pool & hot tub), relax, and kick back. We love creating the opportunity for our guests to have wonderful and memorable experiences, so we hope you enjoy it!
GUEST ACCESS:
Guests have access to the entire suite, the hot tub, the pool (when open), the poolside cabana, and the outdoor dining and firepit areas.
The suite is in the lower level of our home. You might hear occasional noise (e.g., walking, water running) from us or see us outside.
You may also see Mike outside cleaning and maintaining the pool and hot tub, doing yard work, mowing, etc. We try to do loud things (like mowing) when guests are away, when possible.
Because we live on-site, we can help very quickly if needed.
While we respect your privacy, you may have as much or as little interaction with us as you would like to. We have wonderful guests!
LOCATION AND NEIGHBORHOOD:
The neighborhood is hilly and spacious. There is a mix of home types but all properties have at least an acre and gorgeous hills and mountain views. The neighbors are friendly and also enjoy their privacy.
GETTING AROUND:
While we are just off Hwy 59, the area is rural. You will want a vehicle to get around and see all the fun things to do and wonderful places to eat in the Chattanooga area. Unfortunately, Uber does not provide service in this area.
PARKING:
The suite has a separate driveway, just past the main driveway. You are welcome to park next to the cabana/gazebo close to the pool or by the basketball hoop.
Please do not park behind the garage doors as we have vehicles that access that garage and we do not want to disturb you to ask you to please move your vehicle.
Please do not park under the deck.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
Time Zone - We are in the Eastern time zone. If you go 5 minutes west, you will be in the Central time zone.
Traffic - Before venturing out for the day, please check traffic to your destination. Chattanooga is a popular destination as well as a gateway to the South. Many times, there are alternate routes if traffic is heavy.
Happy Guests - We do our best to provide a clean, comfortable, and beautiful environment. Please let us know right away if you need anything or if there is a problem of any kind. We will do our very best to take care of it as quickly as possible.
Future plans - There will be a new upper deck and stairs (mid-2024) and a pool house (timing TBD) in the future. We are always working to improve the space!

About the host

We love Chattanooga and North Georgia and all the amazing things it has to offer. If you want to have fun outside, this is the place to be.
We moved from Minnesota because we were tired of having 5 months of winter and wanted a more active lifestyle. We have 2 daughters here with us and an adult son, future daughter-in-law, and a 3-year-old grandson in Minnesota. We love our family and friends!

Why they chose this property
This is our primary home and we love it! It feels like it is out in the country, yet it is close to the highway which makes for a short drive to all the things we love to do in Chattanooga.
We LOVE the pool and the mountain views. Sunsets are breathtaking. We are often in awe of the beauty of this area. Tennessee and Georgia are very blessed with such amazing beauty. Did I mention the magnolia trees by the pool? They are beautiful!
We love to entertain and have people enjoy our space. We both have large families and enjoy getting together with them. We have enjoyed hosting guests and getting to know many of them. We respect people's privacy but also love to chat with those who like to meet us. It has been wonderful to be able to share this beautiful home! We are investing everything back into the property to make it better and better.
We also love that each neighbor in this area has a good amount of land so we enjoy a little elbow room and privacy, but can still get together and chat. It is a friendly neighborhood, which we love!

What makes this property unique
• The suite has a separate driveway and a private entrance. It is truly its own space.
• There are no stairs to climb for guests to enjoy the entire space, indoors or outdoors.
• The pool is fantastic and the cabana is a wonderful place to get out of the sun, watch the kids play, or have a casual meal.
• We wanted a space for guests to be able to have an affordable 'home away from home' experience. Need to work? We have you covered. Want to swim? Step outside! Need help with something? We are one text away.
• Inside the suite has been remodeled, top to bottom (except for the tub/shower surround), thanks to a fire we had in our main home 2 days before we were going to move in! Whew, there's a story! We love how it turned out!
