You can enjoy the warmth of the fireplace with the flip of a switch in the cooler months, or capture the summer breeze off the water in the warmer months.  Fishing, both winter and summer, is a popular sport, with access to five lakes right out your door.  A boat launch is on your way to the property, just a short way down the street. Two kayaks, and a paddle boat are available for you to use, and 4 life vests are provided.  Basic summer fishing equipment is also available, along with yard games and a couple of bicycles.  Grill out, relax on the deck, and go for a swim.  The house is 2 bedroom, 1 bath.  There's a queen bed in one room, and a bunk with queen on bottom and twin on top in the other.  An air mattress is available for additional sleeping space.  Linens, blankets, towels, and laundry facilities are provided. The bathroom is recently updated and is clean and modern. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, cutlery, utensils, pans, coffee makers, crockpot, toaster, blender, microwave, full size refrigerator, and range. A large smart TV with ROKU and fast WIFI provide additional entertainment and working ability. A folding desk provides a customizable work space - put it wherever you feel like working for the day, even on the deck!

Great Cabin
A very nice cabin on the water. While the weather was not the best on the first half of our stay there was plenty of things to keep us busy in the cabin, games and reading. The outside deck was a pleasant place to sit and watch the world go by once the weather straightened out.

Clean and cozy
Adorable, cozy cottage. Very clean and comfortable. Very thoughtfully stocked kitchen and closets ( blankets, towels, games and puzzles). A warm fire and snack basket was ready for us when we arrived. We had a wonderful stay!!

Great getaway!
This was our 2nd trip to the Classic on the Lake and we will be back! Such a clean cute lake house! Love everything about the house, lakes, and area! Ruth is so nice and takes really good care of everything. We really enjoy using the paddle boat and kayaks. So much to explore with all the small lakes connected!

It's not the Ritz
Nice enough, but think "Fifties Fishing Rental." Very pretty venue on a canal off Lake Huron. House was just so-so. New beds, new bath. Kitchen sorrowful, appliances really bad, minimal furniture. Mostly paneled walls. TV is on Roku only. Deck had been treated with something, making it slippery as ice for our entire stay. All summer toys were stored away (patio pads, chairs, kayaks).

Travel has always been a part of my life. I've stayed in all sorts of accommodations, in dozens of countries, on multiple continents. For the past 20 years I have worked in the hospitality industry. I love travel and I love hospitality. I appreciate the timelessness of classics - like Atticus (To Kill a Mockingbird), "She Love You" (Beatles), that 1967 Ford Mustang GT500 that shares a name with Eleanor Roosevelt who was classic in her own right, French baguettes, British scones, African safaris, and cowboy hats. Classics make memories that aren't forgotten. They bring people together. They give you something to reminisce over when life moves on. That is what I hope you will experience at Classic on The Lake. Come enjoy, relax, laugh, live, and remember! Thank you for stopping by, and welcome back anytime!

Why they chose this property

Harrison is located "within 20 miles of 20 Lakes" and offers many activities in the area. My kids grew up coming to the family cottage just a short walk away, and when we found this house, I was sold at first sight. I love the classic style lake house, the quality of the era, and the great location on the chain of lakes. The full kitchen really sold me, as I've been a professional baker for over two decades, and love a kitchen I can really use! With a bit of dreaming and elbow grease, we brought this classic back to life.

What makes this property unique

This property is quiet enough to work at, comfortable and welcoming enough for a retreat, and fun enough for a family vacation. There are plenty of restaurants around, but the full kitchen might make you want to stay in. The large deck, grassy lawn leading to the waterfront, and firepit are just right for many memories and good times. During the cold season, a warm easy-to-use fireplace that turns on with the flip of a switch keeps the house cozy and inviting. During the warm season, the large windows bring in the breeze off the water.
