Hawaii Pickleball Addicts Lodge is a beautiful, large private home with 2 covered Pickleball Courts (35' x 60' x 22' each) on 2 acres in Mountain View, HI, close to Volcano National Park, Kea'au, Kalapana Black Sand Beach, Uncle Robert's Awa Bar and Farmer's Market, and Hilo on Hawaii Island aka Big Island. Specifically created for large groups to train, compete or just build lifelong memories while enjoying Pickleball around your adventures throughout Hawaii Island. The house is spacious and comfortable with two levels totaling 3500+ square feet making it perfect for large groups or multi-families traveling together. House has 5 bedrooms + 2 dens configured for additional sleeping areas, 3 bathrooms, 3 living rooms, and lanais on each level that offer views of the large 2 acre parcel and TWO covered pickleball courts. Great for large groups with 9 beds total (1K, 5Q, 1D, 2S). Perfect space for your family or group to play or train your pickleball skills while you explore all the magic the Big Island of Hawaii has to offer. Enjoy walking through, or gazing over two acres of land, listening to the sounds of the birds and being surrounded by lush green forest with light breezes.

The home was custom built in 2007. Mountain View is a central location to Volcano National Park, Hilo Town and Pahoa Town, and the southeastern corner of the Big Island where recent lava flows claimed hundreds of homes (specific location of property is at vey low risk of lava flow).

Home is also a beautiful 2 hour scenic drive to Kailua-Kona and Waikoloa Resorts for day trips. The home is 17 miles to Hilo Airport (ITO is the recommended airport) or Volcano National Park (opposite direction), and 14 miles to Pahoa.

Check online sites such as Trip Advisor, Groupon, and Yelp for activities that suit your group. Host is also happy to help organize your activities if needed, just request the help you need.

This area of the Big Island also boasts temperatures from 60 F to 80 F so no heat or Ac needed, just alternate between tank tops and sweatshirts. Fans are available in each bedroom although never utilized. Please check the weather forecast for your visit days and pack accordingly.

Big Island is unique for its green living., Homes have water catchment systems. This home's water system includes both ultraviolet and carbon filtration and is free of additives, natural water at its finest!

Load the dishwasher
Gather used towels and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please wash and dry all used towels the night before checkout and leave towels used in the morning for the cleaner.
Please take trash bag from court area to trash can in garage before departing property. Place new liner (found in cabinet box next to trash can) in trash can.
Please load dishwasher with rinsed dishes and cookware prior to departure. Cleaner will run the dishwasher upon arrival.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Quiet hours shall be from 9:00 pm to 8:00 am, at which time the noise from the rental shall shall not be excessive for a residential area.
All vehicles shall be parked in the designated parking area. No vehicles allowed past the enclosed garage area of the house or street side of gate.
The house and property shall not be used for commercial activity. Please seek approval from host for any activity that is not solely residential use.

The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The home was clean and spacious. The pickleball courts were a plus. The water system is catchment, so the water pressure was low. We used one shower that had the best pressure and showered.

There were 11 of us. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms. When the pickleball courts are finished it will be nice. It is about 30 minutes to Hilo and the property is quite remote.

Excellent home for families!!

We loved this very clean and spacious home. It was perfect for our entire family to stay in while attending a family reunion in Hilo. We loved all the beach supplies that were available there for use and the washer and dryer came in handy. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and eat at home and there is a grocery store about 15 minutes away that we frequented during our stay. The host was wonderful to work with and was available to answer any questions we had. This was a great home and we will definitely stay again.

The house and pickleball courts were awesome. The house is large and easily fit our group of 14 (of course you have to be willing to share beds and rooms, but very comfortable). The pickleball courts are nice and well maintained. The only problem with the courts is that some of the lights are either out or flickering. We tried using the lights the first night, but it was a little distracting so we just played until evening. The only issue we had with the house was that the water pressure is a low. We spaced out taking showers and that helped a little. Oh and the coqui frogs are loud, so bring noise cancelling headphones if they bother you! Other than that, the stay was super fun and Loretta was very responsive (we had an issue with the WiFi, but she addressed it right away). If you have a large pickleball playing group, you'll have a great time here!

Travelled with a group of 3 adults, 1 toddler age 1, and 8 teens ages 14-16 for an inter-island sports/school event. House accomdated all of us well from the kitchen space, bathing and toilets to sleeping our arrangements. Space was well over accomadating for 12 people. We seperated the boys and girls by floors with chaperones on each level. We were able to wash clothes (laundry soap and dryer sheets were available). Shampoo, conditioner and body wash was also available in bathrooms. All dishes and utensils provided. All around great stay. We were even able to catch a slight earthquake while in the house-as the Big Island has them once in awhile. We felt safe in the house during that time. Yard is expansive. Plenty of room for the kids to play volleyball in the yard during the day, play games around the table upstairs in the evening, and seating for eating breakfast/lunch and dinner was more than we needed. Host had clear communication and the property is gated upon entry. We couldnt have asked for a better location. 5 star house, host and accomodations.

In addition to family and pickleball, we enjoy hosting visitors to our vacation rental home so they too can experience the beauty of our homeland and the Aloha that is instilled in our people. Also VRBO hosts on Oahu, we continue to straddle between Oahu and the Big Island so we can be closer to our mo'opuna (grandchildren). It has been a blessing to see groups of pickleball lovers enjoy our property while competing at pickleball with their families and friends, their favorite fellow pickleball lovers.

Why they chose this property

This property is huge and accommodates large families or groups (sleeps 14 on beds) and is the perfect space for people to reconnect as they soak up the natural beauty of this island and enjoy the game of pickleball. The location is perfect for secluded and uninterrupted pickleball play. The court covers allow play despite the weather, protects our guest from the occasional harsh sun and rain, and is high and wide enough for lobs and ATP shots. Although we created this space for pickleball addicts like ourselves, its also a great space for groups to team build, hold corporate events for groups under 20, etc. It lifts our hearts to see and know that our efforts and property will help bring people closer together, improve their skill for pickleball, and be a part of making lifelong memories.
