Relax and unwind in this private, treed setting in the Santiam Canyon. Pick your own organic blackberries in the summer. This is a quiet place. Popular Shellburg Falls is just a few miles up the road, but is closed due to the wildfire of 2020. It is scheduled to re-open in 2024. More hiking and outdoor recreation areas nearby are opening back up after the fire. Breitenbush Hot Springs has re-opened. There is year-round river/whitewater rafting on the Santiam River available through 2 local companies, eNRG Kayaking, and Oregon River Experiences. The Santiam River is just 1.5 miles from the tiny house. The iconic Silver Falls State Park is only 17 miles away. With many breathtaking waterfalls, this has been called the "crown jewel" of the Oregon State Parks System, and is our largest park with 9,200 acres. It has over 24 miles of nationally recognized hiking trails, horse trails, and a bike path. This park was once considered for national park status. Kitchen comes with a small refrigerator/freezer, countertop convection oven, microwave, 2 burner hot plate, portable beverage bar with Keurig coffee maker, coffee pods, creamer, tea, and hot cocoa mix. There is a newer loveseat in the living room that converts into a twin bed with memory foam mattress. The bed in the bedroom is a 3/4 full size (48" x 75") 8" memory foam mattress. The house is fully furnished with dishes, silverware, cookware and utensils. There is a folding dining table in the kitchen/living room space. In the bathroom, there is a washer/dryer combo with laundry soap provided. There are towels, washcloths, Aveda brand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. Bedding and blankets are included. If you bring your 4-legged friends, the sleeper loveseat, chair, and bed will be covered with pet friendly blankets. Please let me know in advance if you're bringing a pet. The house is close to hiking, biking, and the Santiam River is less than 2 miles away. Dining and recreation information are provided in the house.
You may hear owls, elk, coyote, and may see deer, coyote, bobcat. There have been cougar and black bear sightings in the area. Housebroken, well-behaved pets are welcome. Property is completely fenced, but there are places pets may be able to get through, so they must be watched or tethered while outside. Dogs must not be left alone. Outside seating includes 2 resin Adirondack chairs that will fit perfectly on larger deck. There is also an area with a small picnic table and park bench. 2 lanterns are provided for your enjoyment after dark. Available year-round for a quiet getaway in the woods. There is no cable or wi-fi. Cell phone reception should be fine. This is a quiet place, no loud music or parties allowed. There is a t.v. with dvd/blu-ray player in the bedroom with a variety of dvd's, for those rainy/snowy days or when you just want to chill and watch a movie or show. If you're feeling adventurous, often when it's raining on the highway it will be snowing on the road. The tiny house is at 1100' elevation, and the road keeps climbing above the house. Things to do include hiking at Silver Falls State Park, Mount Jefferson Wilderness, which has many trails, including part of the famous Pacific Crest Trail. The quaint old west town of Sisters is 85 miles away; there is a covered bridge loop in Linn County, and Detroit Lake is 27 miles away.
Guest access
You will have the entire space. For those concerned about COVID-19: I owned a commercial and residential cleaning company for many years, and do the cleaning and laundry myself. I use a hospital-grade disinfectant that is rated to kill Human Coronavirus. I disinfect all door knobs and handles, light switches, faucets, sinks, shower, toilet, and other high-touch areas. I wash all bedding, blankets, and shower curtain after each stay.

Amazing escape
The property is beautiful, clean, simple. For someone with a dog and a younger child, I love that the property is fenced in (not super secure but relieving to have when playing outside). Jennifer is also really kind and had the place stocked. There were only 2 downsides which aren’t all bad. 1. On one warmer day the bees/hornets/wasps were so bad, so were the gnats. Using deet just made the gnats stick to my skin lol. On cooler days it was no problem. 2. It is right off of the road and there were vehicles driving by fairly frequently- there was quite a bit of dust pick up since it was dry summer weather. Overall 9/10

Peaceful
Very much a country feel. A great place to get away from city life. The tiny home was so cute, and extremely clean. I loved the outside seating. Everything was provided for what was necessary for your stay. I would definitely go back.

Tiny Home/Little Gem!
This property is within 30 minutes of Silver Falls and Silverton. The owner provides many essentials. The bed is comfortable and the home is cozy. I especially loved the property which provides a nice view of nature. She also has a nice little trail around the property and thoughtfully provided plaques for plant identification. Would definitely return!

Delightful Tiny House with Valley View
Located in a quiet acre lot—green and lovely. The home is sweet and cozy and we felt immediately at home. Lots of thoughtful and sensible touches to make things easy. I honestly couldn’t think of anything that we needed that wasn’t there. The yard is super for dogs-secure enough that we didn’t need to leash them when sitting outside. The only small challenge was the short stretch of gravel road which was was okay if taken slowly so as not to raise dust. That aside though is not really a big deal—just be prepared for it. I would go back in a heartbeat!

About the host

I am a native Oregonian, and was born and raised in Salem. I owned a commercial and residential cleaning service for many years. I bought my property here in Lyons 25 years ago, and love the Canyon life. The tiny house is across the road, and the tiny house was built on-site a few years ago. While I am new to the VRBO family, I have hosted this house on another website for many years.

Why they chose this property

This is a private, secluded, quiet, relaxing place to visit! The closest neighbor(besides my house) is half a mile away. You never know what kind of wildlife you may see or hear. The property is on over an acre of land, and is close to many outdoor recreation areas. While the wildfire of 2020 burned many acres of trees, more areas in the Canyon are opening back up for recreation.

What makes this property unique

Enjoy an entire tiny home for less than most hotel rooms, with room to walk outside, and a place your dogs will love. Enjoy the clean forest smell, especially after a good rain. Perfect for a getaway weekend or vacation stay. While I live across the road, I will not contact you. You may contact me at any time. There is a lockbox at the tiny house, for easy contactless check-ins.
