Relax at our Waterfront \ Hot Tub \ Near Tamarack - NEW

Brand New! Have fun at our waterfront property that's the adventure's dream! Away from the main streets, we are located right at the trailhead of West Mountain "No Business" section and only 11 minutes from Tamarack Ski Resort. There are limited properties to offer what we have so enjoy looking out at the lake while sitting in the beautiful Hot Tub surrounded by trees under a covered deck! Big picture windows let you enjoy the view and keep your privacy. King and Queen beds with hand-crafted furniture and the living room has top-grain leather recliners all looking out at the lake! Let's go Relax!

We have a covered carport to keep the weather off your vehicle with a huge drive-in and drive-out driveway for those with long trailers! Perfect for those who bring your boat, snowmobile, or other trailer up to 40ft long. The garage is locked for owner use only. There are two large picture windows to see trees, the lake, and the mountains all year. The reservoir is either rising in the spring or reseeding as the summer progresses and by the end of August it becomes a beautiful prairie with a river flowing through. Peak times that the lake is full are around the end of May to July. Each month offers a different but amazing view as noted below. Tamarack Resort is just 11 minutes away south of the property. We also have a portable inflatable queen mattress with a built-in pump (located in the king bedroom closet) that can be placed in the living room if you need a max of 5 people. For families with children, we have a baby gate for the top of the stairs and a Pack'n Play crib.

During the summer months, we work with Valley County Mosquito abatement, and they fog the area often in the summer. We are on the non-motorized side of the lake so it is much more private, and you will see paddle boarders and kayaks out on the lake in the summer. The boat launch is about 1.5 miles south of the property for Rainbow Point and there are two other launches nearby. The trailhead for West Mountain is right around the corner for those who enjoy ATV, Side by Side, and Dirt bikes.

In the winter the roads are plowed by Valley County, and we have a private snow plowing company as well for around the driveway and do our best to keep it plowed. Our snowmobiling is amazing so plan to come back in the winter as well. The rental company is only one mile away and we can arrange a discount so you can contact us first. Great hot tub to relax in after renting ebikes in McCall and riding North Rail Trail and in Ponderosa State Park and walking the Crown Point Trail in Cascade.Excellent restaurants nearby. Great location, enjoyed the hot tub, owner was accommodating to our needs. The only thing that was different than what I expected was it said it slept 5 but there was only two beds and a couch. I didn’t realize a couch was counted as a “bed.” But we really enjoyed the property and would definitely go back.

I need to make sure it's more clear that in the bedroom with the king bed closet that there is a self inflating queen mattress, linen, pillows, and even a mattress topper that guests can take out to the living room at night. We wanted high end leather recliners for guests to enjoy the view so it wouldn't support a hide away bed. When guests book with 4 or 5 people I will ensure they are aware of this option. Thank you again so we can communicate even better for next time!

Great for a quick getaway. Beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The house was immaculate, with comfy beds. Check in was easy and the host was very helpful. The information booklet provided by the host was perfect, including recommendations for dinner. We loved dinner at Hai Yan Oriental Cuisine. We will definitely be back for another stay.

Idyllic Getaway

We were so comfortable in this lakeside cabin! Everything was so nice and clean, and the directions and written information made staying there very easy. The hot tub was a terrific bonus. After spending a fun morning at the Tamarack Resort driving range rediscovering how to swing a golf club, that hot tub time was essential. We had a particularly nice visit at the Antique Store in Donnelly, and the Huckleberry Pastries at Flights of Fancy were scrumptious. We highly recommend this location.

Perfect Lakeview property close to Tamarack

This property was immaculate! So clean and comfortable. Check in was super easy..we had no questions ever because we had instructions and directions for literally everything. The view from the kitchen/living room was amazing. This was the perfect cabin for us to stay in while enjoying the slopes at near by Tamarack Resort. We’ll definitely be back next winter!

Pristine with beautiful view

James, the owner, is very friendly and responsive. There is covered parking and everything was so clean. Kitchen was stocked very well. The furniture looked new and was very comfy. Bedding was nice and there were plenty of towels. We most enjoyed the views from the hot tub. It's a great location with many outdoor activities nearby. The owner provides a little welcome book with helpful info about the area and restaurant recommendations. It was a very enjoyable stay!

We were extremely impressed with the overall look of the cabin. When we first walked in and took the stairs to go upstairs, we discovered an incredible view to the lake and mountains. Everything was clean, organized and well kept, everything looked new. The host was extremely helpful and friendly, he even allowed our kids to use his personal sledding equipment. We will definitely go back this summer.

Just Wow! Exceeded Expectations!

We stayed here for a weekend getaway to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. This property was perfect and such a beautiful location. The view of the lake from the living room was breath taking. It was by far the nicest, cleanest, and most comfortable VRBO we have ever stayed at. There was not one negative thing we could say about our stay. The kitchen was fully stocked, the beds were very comfortable, the rustic log furniture was charming, and kicking back on the reclining couch with the big picture window views made it hard to leave. Sitting out in the hot tub on the deck was so relaxing in this private, VERY quiet location. The owner was very accommodating and kept in contact with me from the time we made the reservation. They even left a birthday card for my wife which was a nice surprise when we arrived. My wife is very OCD about cleanliness and was surprised at how clean everything was. It felt like we were the first guests to ever stay here. We want to come back up this winter to stay and rent snowmobiles (which are less than a mile up the road). It is also only 11 minutes from Tamarack Resort, which is where we went for a spa day and spend time at the pool. I guarantee you will not be disappointed in any way staying at Westwood Retreat.

I grew up in the woods and after moving to the city for many years I have been working hard to figure how to get back to my roots and visit the mountains. I love the outdoors which I call my gym. Every month, mother nature offers a different view as tree's change, the weather changes and each season is special to me. Lake Cascade is rising and receeding all the time so each time its a different view. Read our welcome booklet to learn more but my wife and I own 3 properties on the lake and now want to share it with people who are interested enjoying this beautiful location.

It's off the main roads so you wont have nearly the dust and noise. It's has beautiful trees surrounding the house and its on the Lake Cascade. Its on the non-motorized section of the lake so its far more quieter and offers an amazing view of the lake and the mountains. The lake is either full which covers the entire section of the lake or receeds down to a prarie with a river going through. The covered deck offers a way to get out side but not in the weather. If you pull a trailer, you drive in on the South Driveway and drive out on the North Driveway making it one of kind for pulling trailers.
