About this space
Enjoy a rustic boutique stay in our OFF-GRID, spacious, 4-season tent on a beautiful farm sanctuary. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains just 4.5 miles outside of Hot Springs, NC, this glamping experience boasts comforts such as a king bed, kitchenette, solar generator, & private heated outdoor shower. While reveling in the peaceful ambiance from your large front deck, you may decide to wander wooded trails just steps away or enjoy a complimentary meet & greet with resident farm animals.
The space
The Palomino Tent is spacious with creature comforts galore, a solar powered, low maintenance Pellet Stove to you cozy, a large deck and outdoor heated shower and sink. The restroom is a new and private portalet solely for Palomino Tent guests.

The Palomino Tent is located on the edge of a field with long-range views of the pastures and farm. You can also see the mountain ranges of Pisgah National Forest in the distance. Next to your 13-acre pasture, you have access to the 13 acres of wooded trails and creek to explore as you wish. Onsite, you will find beautiful Ash wood slabs and weathered tin from the property, and a screened in area to protect your bedroom and living room area.

Lounge around with French pressed coffee and a game of Scrabble, or grill and cook marshmallows over the campfire at night. Don’t miss the stunning array of stars and Milky Way galaxy from just outside your door in this remote valley.

Horse Hollow Farm is a “mixed use” property aiming to do good for the community! We provide pasture rental and cut hay for local farmers and a refuge for rescue horses. Since discovering unique fireflies on the property, we have initiated spring firefly conservation practices and aim to spearhead a dark skies initiative to protect our night sky and wildlife. We plan to provide farm tours and equine experiences in the coming year.
Guest access
Guests can access approximately 20 acres of the 26 acres of the property, depending on where horses and sheep are grazing.
Other things to note
Pets are welcome but must be leashed while outside the tent.

While the Palomino sleeps 2 people best, guests may bring a pad or air mattress and personal linens and blankets for additional guests or children.

I am not one to bash on anyone at all but this was a terrible experience. I messaged the host first thing Friday morning to make sure everything was good and if my husband and I needed to bring anything. I did not get a response. We finally get there about 4:30 that afternoon and the tent was messy. The bed was not made, pillows on the floor, the toilet was not cleaned. It looked like someone was staying there. Called the host and it went straight to voice mail. We went into town cause you could not get any service. Called the host and messaged her. Nothing. Called help from Vrbo and they could not get a hold of her either. We ended up driving back home because it was getting dark and it was in the middle of nowhere. Called Vrbo again and they wanted me to get pictures. I told them i was already on my way home cause we live 2 1/2 hrs away. They told me that in order to help me I had to get pictures. I was already upset. This was suppose to be a great birthday weekend and it unfortunately it did not go as I was hoping. Vrbo kept telling me that in order to help I needed to get pictures. I even emailed my messages that I made to the host. Nothing. Im really disappointed because I feel like I was scammed on this. I just want my refund for this trip.
