We are happy to provide recommendations and suggestions so you can enjoy Mid Coast like a local, and will be available should you need us, but we are often away from home at work so you will have plenty of privacy. About the host
Hosted by Alison Engel
Hello! I am a midwife living and working in MidCoast Maine. My husband and I settled here so that we could slow down as a family, let our kids grow up in a place where they are familiar with dirt and bugs, and build a more sustainable life. We couldn't be luckier to have landed on this little slice of paradise and can't wait to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
Rockport is an incredible location, both for the immediate surroundings, as well as for its accessibility to so many amazing places both north and south. Drive to Bar Harbor in just under 2 hours, Portland 1 hr 30 min, Freeport shopping and outlets 1hr 15min, Belfast is 35 minutes, Damariscotta is 30 minutes, Bristol/Pemaquid Beach are 45 minutes, Port Clyde is 25 minutes, and Vinalhaven and Mongehan are just a ferry ride away. Although many people enjoy vacationing here, it is never as crowded as Acadia or the southern coast- it is truly peaceful here.
What makes this property unique
This is a primary residence during the fall and winter months, so is fully equipped with all the comforts of home. If you care about your environmental footprint, you're looking for room for the whole family or a few couples, and want an idyllic location close to the many adventures that await you in the MidCoast, this is your spot. Slow down, go back in time, and experience Maine summer- The Way Life Should Be!
