We were scheduled to stay at this location for twenty-one days, we arrived at 2:30 pm and left at 8:30 am the next morning due to the horrible condition. The home was unbelievably misrepresented online. When I was texting with the host she was changing her listing to cover her misrepresentations. The home smelled musty, there were cobwebs, we killed four spiders and seven wasps/hornets during our first seven hours. The home listed heating, but the furnace was unplugged and turned off because it didn't work. The home was cold, only 61 degrees. The shower had three large pieces of tape holding the wall together, and the handle to adjust temperature and water flow was loose. The host claimed this was done by a professional plumber. There are no towel racks. The smart TV didn't work as the internet was for cell phone and email only, not for streaming and no cable service or antenna. The living area is poorly lit and not sufficient for two people trying to read. When we took off our shoes to go to bed the floor was gritty under our feet. The shower floor was dirty. The d housekeeping lady showed up to check for bees and spider after the host had sent a message the home was ready. The host's attitude--bugs and spiders happen in the woods, it wasn't getting that cold overnight and would be fine without heat. She described the house as "charmingly rustic" and that I knew what I was getting into. I most certainly did not! The place is a dump!
It was so nice to stay someplace close to where I was born and raised. Everyone we met in the area, were just like me. Friendly and out going and stating they have another friend. Communication was great with the property owner, nicer since she had relation close by to help if needed. There are no clocks in the cabin, but who wants to be reminded of the time, when you are not on the clock.
Relaxing
Even though property is older, it was clean and cozy. Owner was easy and fast to communicate with. We will be back!

About the host

I've lived in Michigan my entire life. I enjoy the Harrison/Clare area. I have been a landlord the last 12 years and acquired STR rental property in the last 3 years.
Why they chose this property
I love walking down Pine St to the beachy area and lake access. It is so relaxing to sit and enjoy nature, in the morning.
What makes this property unique
I love this little cabin. It gives a great rustic feel with modern amenities. I have personally stayed there a few times.
