We have excellent food at the island of Vis , great small local restaurants I can recommend ( I have a long list of my secret top local places) , and shopping is no problem at all, you would have everything you need:
- First Supermarket for daily shopping is very close in nearby village of Podstrazje 1,5 km , only few minutes with a car from our villa, and big supermarkets in Vis town( 10 min away) and Komiža town (20 min away) are open seven days a week until late evening 21.00 h , you can find everything there
- Our Local baker delivers fresh bread daily every morning around 8.30h , directly to you at Villa Tempera parking place , as well as fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, eggs –nearly every day, min. twice a week in the afternoon.
- Local fruit and vegetable and fish markets are open daily in neraby VIS town (9km – less than 10 min with a car ) .You can also buy fresh fish directly off the fishing boats in nearby Rukavac village ( 3km from villa), like we do, it is perfect fish!
- We can help you with shopping for excellent special eco island food, fish, lamb, fresh eggs, vegetables and fruit ...

My name is Petra, Croatian , I was born and raised in the 1700 years old City of Split, recognised as one of ten most alluring world heritage places to live in, azzure blue of Adriatic Sea at my footstep, surrounded by all the riches of Croatia and the amazing Dalmatian Coast. My family - my Dad Vladislav, my Mum Sanja and my Sister Andrea - we are like a small group of travel enthusiasts deeply and personally involved in travel, sailing, excellent food and recreation throughout Croatia, constantly searching, tasting for authentic experiences of traditional heritage , gastronomy and culture. Since my early childhood the most beautiful family memories were connected to Vis, our Secret Island, and now also Villa Tempera my second home and place I always try to escape to.

Life in the slow lane on Vis - The moment your ferry pulls into the Vis Port, you are facing your private Sanctuary. No big hotels, no fuss, no hubbub; Vis is really 'the Mediterranean as it once was' - an island of fishermen and winegrowers, loved for its beautiful beaches, nature, ecological agriculture, traditional architecture.
But it’s best attributes are the leisurely pace of life, its most relaxed and easygoing inhabitants and beautiful landscape… 'Pomalo' (meaning slowly, or little by little) is the word exchanged between locals doing their daily routines in the relaxed, timeless atmosphere. Yes, there are other beautiful parts of the Adriatic.
