Last House on the River
Historic "Old Mystic" home with Pool - Cozy, fully equipped on the Mystic River

Experience the allure of this historical Colonial home in charming Old Mystic. The perfect location! 5 min from “Old Mystic” Villiage & Mystic Aquarium. 10 min from downtown Mystic and 15-20 min from Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos!
This property can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests with its first-floor family room, living room with dining area, and office/bedroom. On the second floor, you'll find two bedrooms, one with additional space perfect for smaller family members and a convenient washer and dryer.
"Last House on The River" was originally built in 1797; along with its many updates, it still holds many of its original features, like the warming box in the fireplace, the deep and tapered custom colonial staircase, and the stone steps that lead from the backyard down to the top of the Mystic River. The beautifully updated kitchen has cherry cabinets, granite counters, and stainless steel appliances that will impress any chef. The modern appliances make a perfect complement to the historic charm of this home. Gas stove top. Guests can choose to cook their meals or order from the numerous delicious and award-winning local restaurants.
The living room is very cozy, and for those nights when you want to relax, the smart TVs are fully equipped for your movie-watching needs. The original 1797 fireplaces provide an added touch of warmth and charm but are just for aesthetics now. Beautiful old-style wide plank floors keep with the historic charm of Mystic while offering modern touches throughout the home. This house represents the perfect combination of new and old, giving your stay a unique character.
The backyard patio is a true highlight of this vacation home. It offers the luxury of an inground pool and combines an attractive and inviting atmosphere that stands out from other properties. The patio is an ideal spot to relax and unwind, bask under the sun in the comfort of lounge chairs while sipping refreshing drinks. The lush and verdant surroundings lend a serene ambiance that makes you feel like a peaceful oasis. The pool area offers a beautiful yard that emphasizes the home's charm, creating a beautiful space to gather with friends and family. Plus, the Mystic River anchors the back of the property providing just one more magical touch.

The Pool is naturally heated by the sun and is typically open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Sleeping Accommodations
- Main level: Full bed in the private bedroom off the living room.
The front living space has a pull-out full bed and a privacy door on one entrance, but the entrance leading to the dining room can not be closed off.
There is a half bath on the Main level. To use the full bath on the second floor, guests will go upstairs and through one of the King bedrooms.
- Second Level: 2 King Size private bedrooms with shared full bath. The second bedroom has a small child's nook providing a place to play and a toddler bed. Because of the age of the house and narrow staircase, the king beds are made up of 2 twins connected by a bed connector in the center.
Each bedroom has a window AC unit.

This property is located in Old Mystic on the Groton town line, so some vacation sites use Groton as the town instead of Mystic.

There is parking for two cars in the driveway. No street parking.

There is a security camera on the front of the house and one on the back overlooking the yard and pool area. These cameras are for security only and are not monitored during guests stays unless we receive a complaint.

Historic Gem
We loved staying in this cozy, historic home! We were traveling with 4 adults and a toddler, there was plenty of room for everyone including a little playroom ideal for our pack n play. The backyard is an amazing bonus too. It’s important to know someone with even mild mobility problems may not be comfortable on the stairs, but there’s a bedroom downstairs for that. Perfect location for exploring all around the Mystic area, can’t wait to return!

Mid September getaway
We enjoyed our stay very much. The home was very quaint, and in a great location. The grounds and setting were gorgeous. We could not find a wine opener. Otherwise, the kitchen was fully stocked. Also, could not locate an iron or a hairdryer. Otherwise the accommodations were great. The location was convenient to all of the stops that we wanted to make during our trip. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your beautiful home.

Great Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only reason I didn't give it 5-stars was the check-in process. The map took us to a different part of town and a different house. After a 7-hour car ride, it was a little frustrating. That said, the stay was very relaxing, the hosts were very communicative, and the house was beautiful. We had a great time and I highly recommend this property!

Historic restored home extraordinaire
Absolutely pristine historic, yet fully modernized 1797 colonial, fully equipped kitchen… immaculate ! With fabulous backyard … pool, patio and river…. This home didn’t miss a beat. Although it rained for most of our stay, we enjoyed everything the area had to offer. Jena and Tony, our property managers, were on spot, attentive and thorough…. a great family get away!
