This house in Duck, NC is the perfect vacation spot! We traveled to the Duck for 10 years and stayed in Schooner Ridge for 8 before buying in the neighborhood because we love it so much!
The House is 5BR/3BA with a large top-level open floorplan, vaulted ceilings & loft, large kitchen, plenty of indoor/outdoor living spaces to cook, gather, relax & unwind including large deck areas & hot tub!
Did you know that there is no public beach access in Duck? Our house is a 5 minute walk to private beach access including bike parking, showers and an outdoor pool!
Guests at Schooner Ridge have wristband access to a rec center with indoor and outdoor pools, tennis court, kiddie pool, playground and gym!
It's an easy walk to the Town of Duck Boardwalk, shops & restaurants!
The kitchen is fully stocked including pour over, drip and Keurig coffee makers but we always love a run up to Duck Cottage bookstore and coffee shop for a latte too.

We offer an outdoor grilling space for both gas and charcoal cooking too!
You might be surprised to find that even when it's hot out, the hot tub is refreshing! We enjoy hanging out playing games at the "tiki bar" table while the kids are in the hot tub.
Are you a morning person? Head out to the beach for sunrise and claim your spot on the sand.
Night owl? Head to the beach after sundown with flashlights to go ghost crabbing.
The Town of Duck boardwalk is a great place to be at Sunset- take a walk and enjoy the view!
We do have some sand toys and a couple of chairs for guest use but recommend you bring what your family likes best.
If you are coming with a big group, you will love the second fridge down in the laundry room. It's a great space for overflow food and drinks. *NOTE: We do not provide linens. We will send you a link to a company you can order from if you choose*

Great house in a great location

We had a fantastic stay at this property! Very well stocked house, both the kitchen and with gear for relaxing and the beach. Listing was right on and accurate about the house and amenities. Location is great, walkable to Duck and the beach. Host was quick with communication and very helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Great Stay

This was a great place to stay! Everything was clean and the location is perfect. A very short walk to a private beach access entrance just for the neighborhood residents only. Owner was very responsive to the couple of questions that we had. We enjoyed the amenities that were offered and would book here again any time.

Great property in a central location!

The property has so many amenities ranging from kitchenwares to outdoor games. The owner is very responsive. The walk to the beach and into town are each literally 5 minutes. We look forward to returning!

Functional oasis along Atlantic Shoreline

For our family of 13 (7 adults & 6 kids) theLazy Duck proved to very practical, accessiblewith facility privileges. The pools, tennis courts, game room & community center weresignificant when the weather was not verypleasant. Close proximity to stores, shops,restaurants, parks, board walks, piers, etc..

Great Space in Duck

The location was great. Easy walk to beach and shops. Very convenient to community pool. The house was spacious and well stocked with necessities. Listing wasn’t very thorough as to everything pertinent but what we got exceeded expectations. For what we paid would definitely stay again.

Family trip

Beautiful property. Great and speedy response from owner. Owner very accommodating and compassionate to our family needs. Home offered lots of space for everyone. Loved the outside porch swing! Would be nice if home included linens, toilet paper and kitchen dishcloth/towels to wash the dishes and clean up. But other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Merveilleux endroit

Nous avons tout adoré de notre séjour au Lazy Duck. L’emplacement était tout simplement génial. Tous ont aimé se baigner dans les vagues (parfois fortes) ou encore dans la piscine. La mer est vraiment à 5 minutes de marche et le gym aussi. L’hôtesse est très rapide à répondre et tout est très propre.

We are from Cary, NC about 3.5 hours from Duck. We LOVE Duck and vacationed in Schooner Ridge multiple years before finding the right house to buy.

Why they chose this property

We vacation regularly with our 3 kids and our extended family. Schooner Ridge has been our favorite neighborhood for multiple reasons. We love the rec center with both indoor and outdoor pools. The indoor pool is perfect when the weather doesn't cooperate. Our kids love the beach pool as well. They leave the beach to take a dip and then come back to the ocean. One summer we had a lot of jellyfish and the pools saved our vacation! Our house is a short walk or bike ride to the Town of Duck and all the restaurants and shops as well.

What makes this property unique

We love our property! It sleeps 14 which is not often found this close to town and close to the town's amenities. We have created some wonderful spaces outdoors including a seating area near the hot tub and extra outdoor dining near the grill. Our boys love basketball so the flat driveway is perfect for them! And of course we love our location offering easy access to the pools, rec center and town.
