Would not recommend
Listing does not indicate this is a basement apartment with little outside light. Owner did not send me instructions on how to get in
I had to ask him when we arrived. He was very responsive and apologized. Inside there were small flying bugs all over. In the beds, went into my ear and nose while trying to sleep, numerous in the bathroom flying on you when on the toilet and getting ready in front of the mirror. Also unable to sleep due to repetitive loud band every few minutes. We think the plumbing and water heaters for the building are rightt next to the apartment wall.
We only stayed for 10 hours. It was an unpleasant place to stay. Afterwards I informed the owner of the problems. He apologized and said if he had known he would have fixed them. He also said East Rock has a lot of fruit flies this time of year as if its normal to have bugs in your bed flying on and in your body.
We offered to pay the cleaning fee and asked for the rest of our money back. He refused saying thats like "eating at a restaurant and then asking for your money back". After some back and forths he only agreed to refund us half of the cleaning fee. He showed no insight into the basics of what people expect to experience at any place of stay.
