The apartment was clean and conveniently located, with plenty of parking options. Close to downtown, Black Dog Salvage and the walking trail. The neighborhood was lovely for strolling around and several locally owned restaurants were close by.

Elaine was a wonderful guest. Apartment was left in excellent condition and communication was very good. Would welcome back at any time.
The property was nice. Parking was convenient and close. The neighborhood was a quiet suburban area. We did not prepare meals, but it looked like you could. The radiator heat came on hot and strong - we did not run the A/C. We traveled to visit family and would rent here again.
Spacious Apartment in Stately Roanoke Neighborhood
I thought it was a cute, spacious apartment in an interesting older neighborhood. There were some lovely older homes with beautiful Christmas lights. The host was very helpful in our communications. It was very clean which is my number one priority so I was pleased with that. There were many things that suggested a lot of thought went into providing what guests would need and the Christmas decorations on the doors were a nice touch. It was very close to the hospital where we were visiting our son.
There were a couple of things that could be done differently. There was not enough light in the bedroom and in the living area and the dining room light was not working. The other thing that bothered me was there was not a secure lock on the back door, just a little chain. These are things that could be improved.
Not as easy to remedy is the bathroom. As I am sure you are aware, there is no electrical outlet in the bathroom for a hair dryer or curling iron and not much light in there as well for applying makeup. One thing that could be helpful is a non-slip mat in the tub, Especially a concern for those of us who are seniors.
My Family and I are from the Roanoke area. I was born in Greece (one of my favorite parts of the World) and lived in the Pittsburgh area before marrying and moving to Roanoke. I worked in the financial services sector and then one day I had a mid life crisis. With the help of my Family we opened a Bistro/restaurant in Roanoke that we ran for 17 years. I am now semi retired and run a small catering business and help with our property management business. We Love to Travel (especially to Greece) and I love to cook and entertain. I truly enjoy hosting our properties and showing off the Roanoke valley and all that it has to offer.
Why they chose this property
Grandin Village is a vibrant community that you can easily walk too from the apartments. You will see people walking with their children or pets and everyone is very friendly. There are many small mom and pop restaurants and shops including the Grandin Theatre, Farmers market (Saturdays), The Roanoke Greenway and Black Dog Salvage. To me this is what a small community should be all about.
