Recently constructed, clean and tastefully designed in a quiet area just 4 walkable blocks from the river and all that downtown has to offer. Nestled under a giant Live Oak, this cozy studio will make you feel like you're staying in a treehouse. Included is an efficiency kitchenette, full bath, high-speed WIFI, 60" flat screen TV w/ streaming, premium bedding and packed with other essentials.

Location:

The newly built guest house is in the historic district of downtown Wilmington which allows you the modern conveniences inside while taking a stroll through the past outside. Set behind the main home on a street lined with Live Oaks, Palm Trees, Jasmine, Oleander and Azaleas, it includes a studio floorplan with a full bath and kitchenette. The property is within the historic district boundaries, so guests immediately take a step back in time once outside with many of the local houses dating back to the early-mid 19th Century.

The Yak Shack was a perfect place for my husband and I to stay for a weekend trip to visit family close by. Everything was pristine in the apartment. Comfortable bed, cool decor, great location and easy parking. Brittany and Ryan were super friendly and available for questions. Would definitely stay again when we’re back in town.

Perfect in every way!

Beautiful space with all the amenities and provisions. Very responsive owners. Clean with a super comfy bed and walking distance to the river, restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic Stay

Look no further! The Yak Shack was perfect for our stay in Wilmington. Very comfortable, private, and so close (yet just far enough away to be quiet) to the waterfront and many restaurants. Ryan and Brittany are wonderful hosts- great communication throughout and lots of nice touches in the Yak Shack. We will stay again. Thank you Ryan and Brittany!

Music, walking, dining and a show.

We had an awesome stay at the Yak Shack for a visit to Wilmington for music and a show. Our room was comfortable, cozy and clean. The space was great, and the neighborhood was quiet. The riverfront walkway was close by for a walk and places to eat and it was a convenient drive to the Wilson center for our show.

While we cherished our time in Charlotte, we found ourselves yearning for the laid-back beach vibes and welcoming atmosphere of the coast. Living in downtown Wilmington offers us the perfect balance. With the beach just 15 minutes away, the Riverwalk a mere 4 blocks away, and an abundance of local shops, bars, and restaurants within walking distance, we couldn't be happier with our decision!

Its proximity to the Riverwalk, vibrant nightlife, and diverse dining scene also played a significant role in our decision. But above all, it's the warmth and smiles of the community that truly won us over. The atmosphere is buzzing yet relaxed; full of character, but nobody is in a hurry to get anywhere. Front porch gatherings, amiable conversations, and leisurely evening strolls amidst Live Oaks, fragrant Jasmine, and towering Palm Trees perfectly encapsulate the enchanting allure of this area. The 19th-century architecture adds an extra layer of charm, completing the picture-perfect setting that captured our hearts from the moment we arrived.
