About this space
This gorgeous mansion was built in 1877 and is a work of historic art. It’s next to Jackson Park, which is like Bedford Falls in the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
Walking distance to the Millwork District and great restaurants and pubs, farmers market and bike trails. There is a lot to do in the beautiful “Driftless Region” where the glaciers didn't flatten, in the mighty Mississippi River Valley.
The large and private apartment is on the 2nd floor and has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living room and kitchen.
Lower parlors are beautiful and available for an added fee and dependant on availiblity.
Free parking on site close to the entrance.
Access to the 2nd floor is up a flight of stairs.
This is private access to the outdoor patio right off the kitchen. The patio has a rubber roof so nothing sharp or high heels please.
Arrangements can be made for access to the lower parlors, which would be an amazing place to have a wedding, Christmas, family reunions or other celebrations. There’s a covered portico, where a horse drawn carriage could park and take guests around beautiful Jackson Park. There are many places for photographs that would make stunning keepsakes, indoors and outdoors. There are many churches in the area, including the Unitarian church in the same block. It is on Main, with Lower Main and Millwork District within walking distance. It’s a wonderful lifestyle of living, reminiscent of the movie!

About the host
Hosted by Katherine Tully

I grew up in Dubuque and left after college graduation. I lived in California for decades and returned more permanently, when my parents needed help. I purchased an old home built in 1890 and rehabbed it and lived there. I did some travel nursing jobs and worked in Public Health during the pandemic. When the beautiful mansion went up for sale durning the pandemic I bought it and love it. I have always been very curious about other cultures and enjoy meeting new friends. Because of my RN background, I require Covid vaccinations for those who enter, including family and friends. The home was a funeral home for 80 years and the history is spectacular. There aren't any ghosts, unless you want there to be, then you can let your spirits run free.
Why they chose this property
This is a glorious old neighborhood with beautiful old homes, which have more recently been bought and rehabbed. Much more opportunity awaits so you can shop around to purchase one of these glories, if you wish.
What makes this property unique
It's one of the oldest homes in Dubuque and no money was spared making it extraordinary. It hasn't been parceled out like many old places were, so its stunning in its original glory.
