Future renters beware
We discovered a big live cockroach inside the apartment hallway. We also noticed that the floors were very sticky (obviously had not been cleaned for a long time), and that the carpeted areas did not appear to have been vacuumed.
Additionally, we were disappointed with several basic things: the carpet had a lot of stains, the handle of the fridge was roughly fixed with scotch tape to hold in place, the few dishes and pans available were mostly chipped and some did not look clean, many light bulbs in the kitchen did not work (no blinds on the kitchen window either), the big kitchen cupboard door did not close properly, the master bedroom balcony was unusable and in need of major repairs (had a chair with broken stuff on it too), the small closet in the master bedroom was unusable (broken closet rod), etc. As we know from using VRBO, a VRBO rental should provide all of these basic attributes, and their absence/lack of maintenance makes the renter feel cheated, yet we paid good money for this rental. The owner is also not good at responding to such issues.
