My husband and I had a great time at this cool old home with its lovely peaceful grounds. We particularly loved the big front porch with a swing, grill, and table set. Kitchen was well stocked and Jaime was a very gracious host. We would love to visit again!
We were so impressed with this property and the communication with the owner. I intentionally booked an older home because we love history, and this house just absolutely fit this and was beautiful.
The house and property was absolutely beautiful and exceeded expectations. Jamie was responsive and flexible with our arrival (after a long drive that was extremely helpful) and while we had no issues while staying I feel certain he would have been available for any concerns.
We look forward to visiting again in the future!
Charming house on a country road surrounded by peace and quiet. The porch is a wonderful spot to relax and watch the horses in the pasture. The sound of the waterfall was very relaxing as you sit out on the patio enjoying the fresh night air. This house is a perfect spot to slow down and reconnect to the beauty of nature.
This house was so charming and comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The beds were so comfortable and the bathroom was stocked with lovely towels. Very peaceful surroundings, the koi and trout ponds with waterfalls were so nice to look at and listen to. We all enjoyed feeding the fish. Lots of hiking in the area but we enjoyed hanging at house, grilling out and listening to the awesome sound system. Jamie is quick to respond, very kind and helpful. No issues at all. Can’t wait to stay again!
I really liked this property. Yes, old and some vintage / antique furnishings but very good beds, living area furniture and entertainment system. The kitchen was better stocked with good pots, pans and utensils than many rentals I've used. No central AC but window units in each bedroom and floor units on the main floor. I was able to be comfortable even on the warm, humid weekend of my stay. The property itself is isolated which is a bonus to me and the nights were free of traffic noise or light pollution. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again in the future.
Very interesting property. Loved the waterfalls there on the property. It really needs some TLC but if you could look past that it was a fairly good place to stay. Interesting old books and antique silverware and dishes. The old music videos were great to listen to and albums too. The water bottles left in the refrigerator were much appreciated. We saw some frogs in the pond and another pond had catfish. If you like nature, you will enjoy the property and surrounding areas. Small town close by. A great place to visit!
We had a wonderful time at Jamie’s farmhouse. He greeted us when we arrived and told us about the area and places to fish for my husband. We loved the swing on the front porch and enjoyed evenings by the outdoor fire pit. The town of Milford was approx 10 minute ride and has some good restaurants.
Jamie’s home is very comfortable and furnished with many antiques. There were games and books available, and a large assortment of music.
The property is very private and we saw many deer and various types of birds. If you are looking for a private retreat then this is the place to go. Thanks, Jamie, for sharing your lovely home.
I enjoyed this property very much! It was so peaceful. I had my coffee every morning on the porch swing. I enjoyed listening to the vinyl collection. The beds were very comfortable! I slept so good. There was plenty of condiments to make preparing meals much easier. There was even bottled water stocked in the fridge. I wasn’t sure if that was from a past guest or not, so we payed it forward for the next tenants. I look forward to staying again! It felt like home but much more relaxing. I didn’t want to leave. Also, Jamie was very helpful and easy to get in touch with when I had any questions.
James is super nice, helpful, and lives close to the property for anything we would’ve needed. The house and area is so cozy and peaceful, there were so many things to do like sit by the pond and watch the neighbor’s horses, grill dinner, have a dance party with the awesome surround sound speakers throughout the house, play a game, explore the area; i could’ve stayed there forever! There is so much provided inside the house too like toiletries if i had forgotten anything for the shower, a well-stocked kitchen with some snacks, spices, tea, and more available too, and the living room has games, dvds, vinyls and a record player for that rainy day indoor fun! there are many fans and ac units to keep the whole house cool and i saw some heaters for the winter as well! overall, this stay was magical and so much fun! you can feel the history of the place as you walk around and imagine the perfect home that it once was, like i said i could’ve stayed there forever, i’ll definitely be back!
Jamie is a welcoming host and we had a wonderful time at his charming farmhouse. We stayed here at the end of the summer last year and decided to go in the fall to enjoy the foliage. It was a good choice! The trees on the property were beautiful and we could also use the porch. We also enjoyed the cozy living room fireplace in the evenings.
What an incredible property! Absolutely gorgeous location with land with trees at edge and elsewhere, three ponds and a recirculating stream, a beautiful separate property pasture below and woods with trails within walking distance. The historic house was charming, filled with antiques and interesting knickknacks;’all the rooms were lovely. I could have spent a week or two there. The only drawback was the unseasonably warm fall weather which brought out a plague of Asian beetles, even in the house. Still, it was such a special property that both my brother and I picked it as our favorite vacation rental of the seven we stayed in this trip. The owner was also accommodating with giving us a little extra time on either end of our stay, and it was nice that he came to meet us too. It felt like stepping back in time to a peaceful place. Thank you, Jamie!
Property was charming and what we expected. The stairs going to the second floor are steep (what you’d expect in an 1800s farmhouse. Unfortunately, too steep for our 9 year old dog. Fantastic location - close to Milford and also very close to local waterfalls and other hikes. House is off of a very lightly traveled road, turning into a dirt road…great for long walks.
wonderful. Farmhouse was a wonderful vacation house with everything available my family needed for a relaxing and enjoyable rental. We did feed the fish at the pond. Yeah!
Scenery and location was beautiful! The house was as advertised. Well-equipped home with everything we needed. Jamie was very responsive and prompt. We had a great stay!
Property and house are somehow better than advertised. Loved the rustic charm and the stove was great too!Property is beautiful and hosts were so friendly and helpful. We hope to revisit soon.
We were familiar with the area already but we decided to stay here while visiting other family members. What a property! The farmhouse and grounds look even better (and larger) than the photos depict, and the house comes fully stocked with modern amenities. We didn't expect to invite family over, but we decided to have them over for a grill because we knew they'd enjoy it. The owner was also very friendly and showed my son how to feed the catfish pond.
I love this little farmhouse so much. The peaceful surroundings, the fireplace, the books, the old leather sofas you sink into for hours. It never disappoints.
