Great location…close enough to tournament site and food. Perfect size house for our group. Able to enjoy our own space over the weekend instead of in a cramped hotel room.
My father passed away and we returned to Huntington to bury him. I wanted a place that was clean, quiet and close. This property was perfect and the owners were great.
We needed this rental on a moment’s notice & unsure of how long due to a personal family situation.
The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay feel comfortable and supported. We are forever indebted.
Our family stayed here for a night on our way further south for the holidays. We were a little concerned because of other reviews that it might be a bit cold overnight for the older generation, but that certainly was not the case. Space heaters were available and very much not needed! The furnace did it's job beautifully. The front porch was a really wonderful feature of the home and we enjoyed sitting out there in the evening. We also had dogs with us and the fenced in yard was amazing to have.
House is well kept and obvious care is taken with its decorations. The attic bedroom space is suitable for older children but is a headbanger for taller adults. Neighborhood is quiet but the roads to access it are windy and narrow.
Our major issue during our stay was that during colder weather, the house got uncomfortably cold. Our first night the temperature was in the upper 30s/lower 40s and it was difficult to keep warm. The second night the temperature dropped into the 20s and the heating system couldn't keep up, even using a space heater supplied by the hosts. We were extremely cold the next morning -- it was too cold even to take morning showers. Lots of cold spots in the house and icy floor suggest not a lot of insulation. Hosts mentioned they would get the heating system serviced so maybe it will be better going forward, and could be fine in warmer weather.
