Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. Our mountain retreat is located a little "off the beating path", but yet offers plenty to do on any given day. This little gem is an outdoors person dream come true. Our views are breathtaking. Fascinating sounds of a wide variety of birds, as well as the famous coqui frog that comes to life at night, will add to this very unique and enriching experience!

I don’t like to leave negative reviews but I have to make an exception in this case.
I walked into the kitchen to check out the amenities when I noticed the coffee pot was so moldy. I was taken aback on how dirty it was that made me look more carefully. I noticed fruit loops on the floor. The drawer inside the refrigerator was dirty. I was going to clean it up… except I couldn’t find any dish soap. I had to use some of the watered down hand soap from bathroom.
When I went to bathroom, I noticed hair around toilet on floor. All of this lead me to believe the place wasn’t fully cleaned (I have pictures of all of this).
The kitchen light wasn’t working (lightbulb out?), so I had to use my phone’s light at night. I tried looking for another one and the spare one that I found wasn’t working either. This was communicated within 24 hours of being there. I didn’t receive replacement.
The washing machine said it was working, except the pvc pipe drainage was not properly working. I had to mop about 2/3 of the water from floor from it leaking. And didn’t realize I couldn’t wash with hot water.
FYI, to turn on the gas to the stove, you’ll have to turn on propane tank outside house. It’s not so well lit at night so not convenient then. And not much better during day as the walkway to said tank has overgrown grass on a downward slope.
I didn’t have high expectations, just looking for a clean cozy place for a good price.

About the host
Hosted by Christopher Gardner
I am very passionate about exploring new geographic regions. Hopefully the experiences gained from my travels, will improve my ability to host and make your experience at one of my locations even better!
Why they chose this property
I always wanted to be able to host a property in Puerto Rico, knowing this was a place I wanted to come back to. The monotonous terrain offers plenty of shade in the summer and lots of fresh air throughout the seasons. Although the place is located in the mountains, a 20-minute drive into the valley will let you enjoy the historical city of Mayaguez. The nearby surf resort Rincon will offer much needed beach time and can be accessed within 35-40 minutes.
What makes this property unique
The breathtaking views are very unique to this place. It also offers a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Mayaguez. This would be a perfect place for the more adventurous type that has a keen eye for birds and loves the outdoors!
