At the top of the harbor & just over a mile from Padanaram Village you will find “Stones Throw”. Having been a rental for the past several years, this charming 3 bedroom 1 bath home has everything needed to ensure your time spent here in South Dartmouth is comfortable & top notch, no matter what season you come. On the inside, you will find bright & spacious rooms with a pronounced coastal cottage feel, updated kitchen & bathroom as well as plenty of storage throughout for luggage & clothing. On the outside you can enjoy meals & cocktails on the back deck & patio complete with outdoor furniture, dining table, fire pit & outdoor shower. As a bonus, you can take a short walk down a shared laneway to a direct waterfront parcel that is not shared with neighbors & exclusively for guests. On this parcel you can sit back, relax & witness sunsets over the harbor from the Adirondack chairs that stare due west over the water. Guests may use kayaks provided or bring your own non-motorized water toys and enjoy the luxury & convenience of direct waterfront access that Stones Throw offers.

Perfect spot for our long weekend visiting local family and we wish we could have stayed longer. Close to the village, kayaks on site/ water view- house clean and decorated thoughtfully. Pet friendly, we brought our small dog. The outdoor shower is a must try! We hope to be back soon!

Great property very close to shops and restaurants in Padanaram. Very clean with lots of kitchen amenities. The portable AC units worked perfectly throughout the heatwave during our stay. Very quiet and peaceful location. We used the paddle boards and kayaks which was a nice bonus. It’s tricky getting them in the water especially at low tide.

Check-in was smooth and easy. AC worked well during very hot weather. Rooms were clean and well-maintained. Kitchen had every appliance needed. Except for the outdoor shower, we didn't need to use the outdoor area or aquatic equipment.

According to the listing, the property has AC. That is not true. It had a tiny portable unit that wasn't on when we entered and didn't cool once it was turned on. It also had a window unit that had no place to plug in. There were bugs in multiple areas. The property was not habitable, so we ended up booking a hotel room in a nearby town. VRBO compensated us partially but the owner was unwilling to refund any of our money even though we did not stay in the property.

The Perfect Weekend

We've selected this place for two main reasons - 1) Kayaks included, and 2) pets are welcome (at least, a dog - check the rules). Apart from the two kayaks, three standup boards (SUB) were also available. The property is located near a small cove, so it's perfect for SUB beginners, as there are no waves due to power motorboats, jet skis, etc. Note that launching the boats ISN'T a walk in the park. You'll have to deal with a narrow and relatively steep path, dealing with shrubs, rocks, and mud. The first day we've done it when the tide was low. It almost dissuaded us from doing it again, but we were glad that we did it the next day, when the tide was high - was much easier than the day before. We were 4 adults and two children. We made a rule beforehand that nobody uses the phone while occupying the single bathroom. With this rule, and the outside shower (hot water included), it wasn't a problem for us. The house was well equipped with common supplies, although we bought firewood for the fire pit. The kitchen appliances looked new and worked well. We assembles a 300 piece puzzle, one of many available. Both dining tables (inside & outside) were adequate for our party. The host is very responsive and even came to show us where to launch the kayaks. The house was clean and ready for our arrival. It was a nice surprise to see a new gas grill outside - wasn't listed when we booked.
