About this property

Barr Top Lodge - Newly Constructed in 2023, Secluded and Remote in the Elk Range

Barr Top Lodge is the Newest of the Barr Top Rentals fleet of vacation rentals in the PA Wilds. You may already be familiar with our others, Camp Critter, Dream Ridge Lodge and Bull Hollow Lodge and formerly Barr None Lodge. Barr Top Lodge is our newest construction and we began renting in September of 2023. If you previously stayed at Barr None Lodge, you will be immediately familiar with Barr Top. Located just "above" Barr None, Barr Top is the same construction only this time, on a full basement instead of a 2nd floor. Situated in the heart of the Elk Range and just a mile from Hicks Run, this lodge provides guests with a quiet and remote wilderness getaway.

As with our other Lodges, Benezette PA is our guests most frequent destination from the lodge. The Winslow Hill Viewing Center is a 20 minute drive from the lodge. The Hicks Run Viewing center is a 5 minute drive from the lodge. Visitors also enjoy nearly endless fishing and hiking opportunities.

We offer all the comforts of home. Fully furnished and equipped, you can leave everything but your clothes and food at home. We provide linens and towels, a kitchen complete with every pot, pan or utensil you will need, High Speed Unlimited Internet, Big Screen Smart TV, a Huge Walk in Shower, Central Air and more.

Other amenities include a spacious finished basement complete with Pool Table, Television and lounging area. The kids are welcome to bring their game machines and plug into the 55" TV in the basement.

Seclusion is one of the lodge's most valuable assets. Sit on the huge covered deck or take your camp chairs to the fire ring (with cooking rack) and enjoy the peace and quiet.

The Lodge is accessible year round (4 Wheel Drive is a must in the winter). We look forward to hosting you. Seth and Kevin, Barr Top Rentals.

Located in Driftwood, this lodge is in a rural area and in the mountains. Elk Mountain Winery and Straub Brewery are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Bucktail State Park Natural Area and Sinnemahoning State Park. Kayaking and fishing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hunting and mountain biking nearby.

Perfect Get-Away

The cabin was perfect. So clean and inviting. It had all the feel of a cabin but with the comforts of home. We truly enjoyed our stay. As always, the owner Seth was great with communication. We will continue to rent off Seth for years to come. Thank you for yet another beautiful cabin.

Weekend getaway

We had a wonderful stay at the Barr Top Lodge. Just what we needed to getaway and relax. We enjoyed the fresh 5 inches of snow Saturday morning and took a hike through the mountains and then drove over to the Top of the World overlook. It felt like you were able to touch the clouds. We would highly recommend staying at any of the Barr Lodge locations. Thanks Steve

This place is perfect for the outdoor enthusiasts

This place is clean and layed out well. Plenty of space & bathrooms for everybody to get ready and out in the woods early am. The kitchen is spacious and open. Only thing we missed is a pool table or some entertainment when winding down in the evenings. Overall a great place like these owners other properties we have stayed in.

Seth and Jen and Kevin and Annette began hosting in 2016 with Barr None Lodge. We no longer have Barr None but now have a fleet of 4 rentals in the PA Elk Range near Benezette, PA.

Why they chose this property

We have been camping and hunting this area of PA since childhood and couldn't think of a better place to share with others.

What makes this property unique

We struck a balance between rustic and modern with this lodge. The look and feel is rustic but the amenities are modern. Barr Top Lodge is one of the few vacation rentals where you can be secluded in the mountains yet stream video on your mobile device.
