About this property
Sugar Sand & Harbor Lights on Lake Michigan
Don’t miss your opportunity to see the amazing Michigan fall colors. Book now for September and October. Your adventure begins here: with this 2 bed, one bath charming very private cabin on Lake Michigan. Perfect for a romantic getaway, family trip or time alone, Minutes to downtown Manistique, Kitch-iti-kipi, Fayettville and so much more. But why leave when you have the sugar sandy beach as your playground. Take the short walk across your private boardwalk to the vast sandy shore, perfect for long walks, sand volleyball, frisbee golf, catching some rays, and tons of swimming in the crystal clear waters of Lake Michigan. Wildlife abounds as we have seen American Eagles, Great gray owl, kingfishers, bear, fox, dear, frogs, muskrats, all in a short 10 day stay.
Enjoy morning coffee or evening wine on the expansive deck that hosts 2 Adirondack chairs and a very comfy seating lounge as you watch the sun rise/set: both visible from your porch.
After a full day of relaxing, exploring and bonding with family and friends settle in the comfort of your private cabin. Meals are a breeze; cooking in our well equipped new kitchen with all the amenities (gas stove, microwave, full size refrigerator, copper clade cookware and Crate n Barrel dinner service) or cook out on the charcoal grill, or over the open campfire.
Sirius satellite radio is a plus since no internet is aval. however we do have a DVD player and a small selection of dvd's cell service is great so you can use your hotspot to stream movies etc..
This cabin features some special touches; the picnic table outside was hand made by Wayne Groleau a 94 year old artist craftsman, who is somewhat of a legend to the area; the original artwork/ paintings are by a regional artist Erika Wanless who's work hangs in private homes, restaurants and the occasional gallery: the large glass jug dates from the 1880 and was common on ships traversing the great lakes, and the huge piece of wood (outside the front door) was found on the beach washed up from a 1880's ship that wreck approx. 1940-1960's
We love our fur family members, so yes we are dog friendly, we ask that you pick up after your pet, keep them off the furniture and they must be under your control at all times.
Have family or friends join you as there is a space for RV parking next to the cabin (for an additional fee) please contact for specifics.
We have installed wildlife cameras on the exterior of the property (no sound) these cameras monitor the wildlife comings and goings and provide security for guests. Bear Coytes and other animals are present. You will be notified if these predators have been seen within the last 3 days in your area in order to take extra precaution. These cameras are solely for protection of guests and property. NO CAMERAS ARE PRESENT INSIDE.
There are 2 cameras on property one above the shed in a tree for the side yard, drive and door; and another in a tree for the lake side yard. this camera does get moved to the creek area at times to monitor for beaver.
