About this property

Stay at our luxury mountain home w/ western views of the Blue Ridge mountains.

The villa is located on Indian Camp Mountain on seven secluded acres within a private gated community, a quick 20-minute drive from the town of Brevard and 45+ minutes to Ashville.

The custom-built villa has a unique luxury cabin feel that faces due west over the Blue Ridge mountains, granting you expansive views of the dawn mist lifting from the forest canopy or the western sun setting over the far-off mountain ranges. A high-end kitchen - alongside an outside grill in the covered porch - makes it easy to cook any meal for your family and friends - that is of course if you don't go into town to dine at any one of the excellent local restaurants.

The villa is ideal for a family, couples, or social retreat, and is intended for guests who wish to take in the clean mountain air and silent relaxation of the forest - and is not suited for guests looking for a louder, party-centered atmosphere.

Enjoy unobstructed sunsets from the wrap-around decks, covered porch, outside firepit, or cozy up in the great room or library, both with a fireplace.
You will love returning from a trip to Brevard, Cashiers, or a nearby waterfall, and knowing once you are inside the gate, it's another world. We enjoy the resident wildlife, the morning songbirds, the evening owls, and the peace that a true forest location can bring.

The home is about 4,000 square feet on two levels. The first floor has two en-suite bedrooms with king-size beds. There is an enormous fireplaced great room with 30+' ceilings and glass walls. If it's possible to be large and cozy at the same time, this is it. The gorgeous dining table
seats 8 and is made from the cross-section of a single tree. Light fixtures over the dining table and the great room are unique and custom-made. The kitchen is large and very well-equipped with loads of culinary accessories. The adjacent pantry also has a coffee bar. A quiet den
with a fireplace is tucked down a back hallway. The half bath near the den has a very cool sink made from an old barn cornerstone (fossils are in the stone). The second floor has two en suite bedrooms, both with king beds and a reading nook.

There is a very large covered porch with seating and dining areas plus a gas grill. Eight Adirondack chairs are scattered around the wrap-around elevated deck. A short
walk to the stone-enclosed patio below the house will bring you to a solo stove with chairs for an outside fire.
The west/southwest views overlook the endless undeveloped natural forests. Due to the state park, this land will always stay natural. The view of the Blue Ridge Mountains is astounding. It can change every 15 minutes. Begin your day with coffee on the open deck and have lunch at the table for eight on the covered porch. Cook dinner on the gas grill and enjoy the view of the mountains. Have an evening glass of wine and watch the sky change as night settles over the mountains.
This cabin has been a dream for a long time. We have furnished it as though it was exclusively ours to use.

Other things to note:
From the outside front entrance, please note all of the first floor is accessible with no steps. We do have wildlife in the area. We have seen a back bear once this summer. They are shy but there is no food that can be left out or in cars or they will be visiting. This is a mountain community and nature is well respected.
Though we have a whole house music system that is accessible to you, we would ask that the exterior speakers be kept low. We love having morning coffee and evening wine on the covered porch watching the scenery change. We are often above the
clouds, the colors of the mountains and the sky are ever-changing and never fail to awe us.
Please note: the owners have dogs and cats that stay at the villa when they are in residence.

very scenic
We loved the breath taking panoramic views of the mountains! The kitchen was well equipped for all our cooking needs. The house was a great size with plenty of outdoor space with seating. The beds were comfortable. The host was helpful with things to do in the area and responded quickly about inquiries. Beautiful area to take our morning walks.

We began with Starwood, down the street a mile or so. Our son is a super host and manages both properties for us. He has a number of properties in Nashville that he rents out. Between the two of us, a response is generally very quick with any questions or concerns. I love it when guests are first time to the mountains and are just blown away by the experience and the views.

Why they chose this property

We bought Starwood, a mile down the road, in 2018 and renovated it. We fell in love with the area and wanted to build an ultimate, forever home down the road. This plan works so well for us and each time we leave, we can't wait to get back.

What makes this property unique

We have had friends and guests say "there is absolutely nothing like this anywhere in the area. " The logs are Douglas Fir, from Western British Columbia and are massive. The light, even on a cloudy day, is magical and often we need no interior lighting until dusk. Being at 3200' with a continual breeze limits the need for air conditioning though it is available throughout the home. It's hard to believe that we are a good 10 degrees cooler than Brevard and even in the dog days of summer, we have windows open most nights and need jeans to sit outside on the deck. The views are astounding. Watching a storm come in and seeing lightning through 25' of a wall of windows is truly an amazing experience.
