My 1st red flag was there being no pictures of the bedrooms when I booked. I asked the host for pics to see the beds for myself (former lesson). She took weeks/nudges. Upon sending, she confessed the listing was inaccurate: there were no “murphy beds”. That was the 2nd red flag. She explained the queen bedroom had a 2nd “mattress” in the closet. We agreed to have her setup the two beds. She failed to honor this, which created an uncomfortable situation as it forced two big grown men to sleep on the same bed. The second so-called “mattress” was a memory foam pad that would have taken up the rest of the room, nearly blocked access the bathroom & blocked usage of the closet; a problem as there are zero drawers/storage – not even suitcase racks. After checkout, I received 3 scammy money requests: a 2nd cleaning fee for a “refrigerator spill”, a fee for a chipped cabinet & a fee for “preventing access to cleaning crew” at checkout (the last person in our party was arranging bags in the car, asked the crew if they minded if he took a little longer to bring out the rest of the bags, & even helped them bring their equipment upstairs). Thankfully everything was captured in writing in our vrbo msgs. Wish I had asked for compensation for the inconveniences her lies caused us, but since the stay ended I no longer have recourse for that. I offered to not rate her negatively if she dropped the non-sense charges, but she was unwilling. So let my headache be your warning.
