Outer Banks Ocean-Side Vacation Home

ONLY 120 feet from the Beach. Enjoy the breathtaking ocean views and the unique decor while vacationing. Unlike many of the newer 'mansion' beach houses, this house maintains the feeling of a true beach house while providing a comfortable vacation center for beach lovers.

This beach house is one of the original houses built in ocean sands - it is older, more rustic and a traditional ocean house. No home theaters, music studios or elevators.

Please pass us by if you want a high end hotel.

The first floor features 4 bedrooms (each with its own half bath and sharing a shower/bathtub with a neighboring room), and a full laundry room. There is also a Private Hot Tub and a Gas BBQ Grill, along with a hanging swing and deck chairs. The second floor offers the large great room, kitchen, and dining area, as well as gorgeous southeastern ocean views. There is also a fifth bedroom with full bathroom access. The kitchen has modern appliances and is of an open design. Sunbathers will enjoy the large wraparound decks on both floors. The third floor consists of a game room/sun room fully equipped and ready for some fun with a queen futon, TV, and a Foosball table.

Sleeps 12 in regular beds - with an additional 2 on the futon in the game room

Pets aren't just welcomed - they are ENCOURAGED!

STARTING IN 2024 - As a result of numerous guests damaging the house we will require BOTH damage insurance AND a security deposit. For those people that treat their vacation houses with care we sincerely apologize for the additional "temporary" cost. (which will be refunded after a post departure inspection). Hopefully this will be a short term change to our policy.

The proximity and ease of access to the beach is great. The view of the dunes and ocean was magnificent. Sitting on the outer decks was very relaxing. The house is older and has some quirks with some wear and tear but nothing that hampered and dampened our stay. Any questions or problems were immediately answered or attended to. The stay was great. Fishing trip

Girl’s trip

The location and house were ideal for our weekend! Access to the beach was super close and easy. The sounds of the ocean had us all sleeping like babes. Very clean and comfy. It was chilly out but the rain stayed away until we were leaving. Look forward to hopefully staying again in the future!!

Older Home in Section F. Loved the 5 Bedrooms and the Jack n Jill bathrooms. Upstairs bedroom with bath very private. Loved the kids room on the top floor.

Great time with family!

Property had just about everything we needed. Kitchen was well equipped but wish there had been a large stock pot to make a low country boil. Had a great time building memories with my family. House was only four houses from beach which made it very easy to take everything we needed to the beach. Hope to make it back there again!

If you hate leaving your pup at home when taking a family vacation look no further this is the house for you.This is an amazing house with a wonderful view and beach access. Me and my wife have been a few times now and will continue without a doubt.

Family Vacation

This was a very comfortable beach house that fit our family perfectly. It was large enough to fit everyone with enough deck space to enjoy the views and hear the ocean. It was in close proximity to the beach and a Harris Teeter was a short walk or drive away. Just down the road was shopping and restaurants that were very satisfying. I would recommend the “Dog House” for your stay.

Wonderful location

We had an amazing stay at this location. The house was large enough to accommodate all 10 of us and our dog. We felt right at home. The kitchen was stocked better than any other rental home I have ever been in. The AC worked really well which is a huge plus because normally beach ones have issues. I could not have asked for a better home.

Perfect Family House

This was our second time staying at The Doghouse. We had more than enough room for two families and a dog. It is such a great location, with the beach just steps away, and has everything needed for a relaxing vacation. The house has had some updates since we were last there, which was a nice surprise. The owner, Greg was very responsive when I contacted him about checking in early. I would highly recommend staying at the Doghouse!

Our Go-To Home in the OBX.

For value, convenience, and comfort, it doesn't get much better than The Dog House. We have stayed here several times and will continue to do so. The location and views are incredible. Steps from the beach, right down the road from grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. Large kitchen and dining room, plenty of bedrooms for large families, and a comfortable living area for watching movies or playing games. We will be staying here for Thanksgiving and again next January for a long weekend getaway. Love it and love our time spent there.

Weekend Get Away

Pet friendly home, close to the beach. Comfortable home with all basic essentials provided. Conveniently located to grocery shopping and places to explore (lighthouse and Wright Brothers museum). The beach was peaceful, clean and not crowded. (Mid-May). The house was clean and comfortable with space for everyone.

Amazing Family Getaway

My family and I had the most amazing time staying here and would definitely love to come back!! This house had everything we could need from a beach house and more. There were enough games and activities to keep our two young children busy and they were absolutely ecstatic about sleeping in the bunk beds! The owner was more than accommodating and I felt that, if I needed anything during our stay, he would have provided it to us. We love that we were able to bring our dogs with us and enjoy our vacation with them too! All around a great vacation!!!

Great house with a beautiful view and so close to the beach!

The house was perfect for our family with plenty of space and a large family room where we could hang out together. Beautiful views from the balcony and the most comfortable blue deck chairs made my morning coffee absolutely perfect. The house is super close to the beach and not far from restaurants and the grocery store. It was our first trip to the Outerbanks and it won't be our last! Thanks Greg for a great house!

Perfect for larger groups

The Dog House was perfect for our spring break vacation - two families were able to stay very comfortably with plenty of space to spread out. We appreciated the large dining table with 8 chairs, large counter space for serving lots of food (!), large sofa with flat screen TV for evening time relaxing, and enough bedrooms for all of us! We took advantage of the bike paths, trails along the sound and the beach access. We had lots of fun on this trip - our first experience with the Outer Banks!
