Forest Haven, a Cozy Cabin, 30 Minutes from Yellowstone!
Look no further, this really is the ULTIMATE cabin for your summer or winter vacation! In November 2010, we purchased this lovely, smoke-free, cabin (built June 2010) in beautiful Island Park, Idaho. It's just a 30 minute drive to Yellowstone National Park, but that's only the beginning.
Located in the center of the Island Park area you have access to fishing, wildlife viewing, and snowmobiling/four wheeling right from the front door. We have plenty of off street parking for your toys.
We have really gone above and beyond and have spared no expense to make our cabin an exceptional place to stay while offering an incredible value for your money!
Our cabin has a fully stocked kitchen with convenient appliances, including a full size washer & dryer inside the unit. You can relax with our gas stove, roomy bathrooms and attractive furnishings. Smoking is not allowed.
We have a king-sized bed in the master bedroom with an extra comfy pillow top mattress, a queen-sized bed in the upstairs bedroom, and two more queens and a twin in the loft. There is also a pullout couch in the living room downstairs. The dining room table is large and can accommodate up to 9. There is a "full" bathroom downstairs and a very roomy "3/4" bathroom upstairs with a shower, but no tub.
The cabin is stocked with everything that will make your stay comfortable and fun! We have a total of 2 TVs with DVD players (a 46' flat screen in the living room, and a smaller t.v. in the upstairs 'kids corner'.) We also provide a selection of movies for the whole family. The summer of 2012 we added Direct t.v. and internet service. Cell phone coverage is available. We do not have air conditioning, but in the hottest of months if you open the windows after sunset, the mountain breezes will quickly leave you comfortably cool.
Your kids will love the books, board games and toys we provide. After a long day of having fun, you are welcome to use the gas grill on our patio, and make S'mores, sing campfires songs, and tell ghost stories around the fire pit.

We LOVED this property. It was a wonderful reset between camping adventures with a great kitchen and access to laundry. The house was well stocked and hosted a fantastic set of games for the family. Our most loved feature was the guest book which hosts a hide and seek treasure hunt that has been going on between guests for years.Great stay!!!
It was exactly what we had hoped for and one of the best VRBOs we’ve stayed at. It was easy to find, had phone service and fast WiFi. It was clean and comfortable. The water was hot, washer and dryer nice sized
We loved the space and all the amenities the cabin had available.
It is in a quiet area with lots of space inside and out.
It is about 20 mins to Yellowstone Park and the town is great for groceries, other shopping, and restaurants.
Clean, beautiful, and relaxing cabin with surrounding evergreen trees created a delightful vacation with our family. This was our second trip to Forest Haven and it was totally enjoyable.
The cabin was nice and clean when we checked in. Not a bad drive, about 30 mins, to West Yellowstone. My kids loved the loft area! Checking in and out was super easy. The one downside that the surrounding area had was construction right at the road leading to the cabin. This construction definitely added to delays in traveling. Despite the construction, which is out of host control, the family loved our stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Yellowstone or Grand Tetons.
The property was wonderful. It had plenty of space for our family of 5. My teenagers liked that they all had their own space and that there was internet for when we were done with our daily excursions. The kitchen worked great for cooking our meals at the cabin. The front porch was great. I enjoyed sitting outside and reading in the peaceful setting. The only downside was major road construction, which made it difficult to get to the cabin. This is nothing the host can control and will probably not be an issue in the future.
We stayed for 2 weeks at the beginning of June. The cabin was very clean. It had everything we needed. It was comfortable. They were working on the road coming into the cabin, so we had delays coming and going. Obviously, that isn't the owner's fault, just something to think about. We did get to see the mama moose and her twins while we were there.
The cabin was very nice and extremely clean. The layout was ideal for multiple people. The stairs were not very steep for my elderly mom. The cabin was the perfect location for our vacation to Yellowstone. I would highly recommend this cabin to family and friends.
Comfortable and clean. We were in Island Park for a festival. The host made the whole check-in and check-out process easy, allowing us to enjoy our visit without worry. The cabin is nicely decorated and all the essentials were provided. The only thing, if there is one, is that we had to get propane to use the grill. The description said a grill was available, which is awesome, but didn't say if the grill was charcole or gas. Propane tanks were avaliable, just empty. Otherwise, no complaints. We would stay here again.
This adorable cabin is nestled in pine trees. Clean! Well cared for. Our family enjoyed the Christmas tree and decorations. Lovely. Would love staying here again.
Great property about 40 min drive to Yellowstone west entrance. The property was clean and well stocked. The only thing that would have made our stay more comfortable is a bunch of oscillating fans. The property does not have AC which usually wouldn’t be a big deal, but the week we were there was hot!

Why they chose this property
Our family loves to snowmobile, fish, ride 4 wheelers, hike, and camp. We also LOVE Yellowstone. After our third trip in one summer to the area, we decided we should buy a cabin so we can have a comfy place to stay each and every time we visit Island Park.
What makes this property unique
Our cabin was built in 2010. It has a fully stocked kitchen, complete with dishwasher, microwave and coffee pot. Full size washer and dryer are on site and ready to use. TV and DVD player in the living room, and also in the loft for the little ones. A DVD library, bean bag chairs, toys, and games, even a high chair and pack-n-play style crib. Doorstep access to MILES of trails (some say 400 miles, some say 600 miles... when we ride them ALL, we'll let you know for sure.) Trails are groomed for snowmobiling in winter, and accessible to four wheeling in summer. Many cross country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking trails are nearby. Over 50 awesome fishing holes, and rivers for the fisherman. Wildlife, such as swans, moose, deer, and other critters abound. Only 30 minutes from Yellowstone National Park for even more wildlife viewing. Smoking is not allowed. This really is the ULTIMATE cabin rental!
