Not a good experience staying here
I booked this place last minute because it was close to where I needed to be. I'm not a picky person and usually can make do in a bad situation, but this place had too many issues.
I arrived after dark, no porch light, hard to find where to enter. Inside seemed ok, cheap remodel job, small futon to sleep on and the place was cold and damp. The family above (it's in the bottom of their house?) was kinda noisy.
One night was all I could take! The futon was like sleeping on the floor with one thin blanket. Microwave had crusty old food like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. Coffee maker same, needed cleaned. And in the morning there were ants crawling all over the counter and table and even some in the bed! And it's still cold in there. No thermostat to control any heat...
I packed up and texted them the problems and told them I was leaving! Stayed one night (had it rented for a week) and asked for a refund.
Found out Vrbo policy of no refunds if canceling after checking in - had to go through many phone calls, emails and texts with both Vrbo and the owner in order to get a small refund out of them of 30% of what I originally was charged! They are cheap, and dishonest and I don't think I'll use Vrbo again either. They should have some safeguard to protect renters from dishonest owners.
