My husband and I have lived in Southbury, CT since 1999. My husband is from NY State, while I am from NJ. I love to dance and he loves to make me happy by dancing with me. We love to entertain and have been doing so once annually since we got married on the property in 2020. Sharing our unique homestead and it grounds is something we love to do.

Why they chose this property

Our story is unique in that we originally were living in Ridgefield, CT but could not afford a home there. My husband's best friend was now living in Southbury, so we decided to do a search for affordable places to live. We put in more parameters for our search than we really needed but up popped this house. It is very unique and the property is too. And it turns out, our home is part of the old Ed Sullivan Estate. yes, that Ed Sullivan who had the first variety show that lasted for decades. He has the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Marilyn Monroe, Lucy Ball and many other famous people not only on his show, but at his home. Many of whom actually ended up buying and living in CT nearby. His house is diagonal from ours.

What makes this property unique

We live in an A-Frame (triangle shaped home). The property is surrounded by all sorts of little special gardens, nooks and crannies. And it came with an unground pool that we custom painted black with the image of 2 red roses on the bottom.

Our town is also quite unique in that it has an easy access off of the highway from 4 points but it also has a tremendous amount of things to do in the area. In fact, we have a booklet with over 20 plus pages of things in the area to do, from arts, to bakeries, to hiking to museums and more.
