About this property

Luxury mountain view property - brand new outdoor deck with amazing view.

Alta Vista Peak is a three-level, three-bedroom mountain river home with a cabin feel located in Three Rivers, California. The property has been completely remodeled. The two bathrooms were built using a large amount of river rock to help create a mountain river ambiance. There is a fireplace on the main floor and a wood burning stove in the master bedroom. The kitchen was created with a gourmet chef in mind! Lots of room and high quality appliances to prepare meals to perfection. There is a large deck that overlooks the entrance to Sequoia National Park. From the deck and all the east facing windows is the spectacular Morro Rock. A solid granite rock similar geologically to Yosemite’s Half Dome.
Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, Three Rivers sits in one of the most scenic locations in California, the Kaweah valley.

Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, Three Rivers sits in one of the most scenic locations in California, the Kaweah valley. The three forks of the Kaweah River flow with amazing wonder from Mineral King and Mount Whitney through the town. Some of the most famous artist in America have carved or brushed masterpieces of nature’s beauty from this location. The valley is the gateway to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The Parks, which possess the largest tree in the World (General Sherman), the highest peak in the continental United States (Mount Whitney 14,505 ft), and is also the location of some of the oldest living trees (the Bristlecone pines 4,767 years old!). Both Men’s Journal and Outside magazine recommended the trails of these parks as some of the best hiking experiences in the world.

Alta Peak Vista is a labor of love. Inspired by the incredible beauty, which surrounds it, we have created the ultimate retreat of comfort. It will fulfill the needs of a wonderful honeymoon, a family outing, or an adventurous vacation.

Great Location, Awesome house, and perfect getaway
Overall this stay was better than expected. Arriving to the house you're gonna first notice the dirt road mentioned. Its a little unkept a few pot holes that gave us a scare when we were heading up the dirt road at night time, day time isnt bad. One of our trucks got stuck and we had to give a little push for it to get traction. The master key lock that held our key to enter was broken. With the help of our temporary neighbor, we were able to contact jerry through his phone and worked everything out so wasnt a big issue gave us time to meet the dog RINGO who is VERY RESPECTFUL AND FRIENDLY. The time we stayed ringo was there day and night we felt as if he was protecting us lol he loved meat. Sign said not to feed animals but come on if your grilling meat outside and the dog is iut lookin at you, you tend to give in. We explored the mountain behind the house we hiked up all tr way to the peak. Careful if you try as the grass is very loose and breaks and you can slip easily. House was 8/10 only an 8 because dishes were dirty and a lot of supplies didnt work. House is well maintained plenty of towels,tp,untensils, and space . 🤙🏽

Met all our needs
This house fit our family of 10 perfectly. The views from the deck were amazing. And we loved exploring the hill side around the property. We are also dog lover's, so having Ringo come for visits wasn't an issue. I would gladly request to stay here again if the need ever arose.

Mixed emotions
This property could be a very nice experience if a little TLC and elbow grease were put into it. The location was great, but a bit hard to get to it. Just as stated in previous reviews, the driveway from the main road is long and very rough. Once we got to the house, we couldn't help but notice the house next to it. Very unkept and filled with junk all around it. When we got up to the deck, the view is phenomenal, but can't help feeling like we were near where the movie "Deliverence" was filmed, with the neighbor next door. He happened to turn out very nice, but if you don't know this guy, he looks a bit scary. Then he tells us that Jerry asked him to take trash out of garage to be picked up, so he wanted us to leave garage unlocked. Felt a bit uncomfortable with that, but it turned out to be fine. The neighbor has a large dog, as noted in other reviews, but he did not seem to be a problem. We were told that the neighbor is planning to move soon, so hopefully whoever buys the place will clean it up. The outside of the house we were staying in could certainly benefit from a good power washing. Cobwebs on all the windows. There is a very nice deck off the porch which was nice, except that there were yellow jacket bees that made it impossible to enjoy eating outside. The neighbor said that he has put out traps, which we saw, to catch the bees, but they were everywhere!. So moving inside. Jerry has done some remodeling and it was very nice. There were some concerns with how the place had been "cleaned". There is a beautiful copper farm sink in the kitchen, but it was had a bad odor and I had to clean it before even using it. The stairway down to the garage appeared to not have been cleaned in quite some time, as well as the rugs in the main level bathroom. They were so dirty that I put towels on them to stand on. Jerry needs to consider getting someone else to clean between peoples staying there. Now for the furnishings. This place looks to have been furnished by leftover or used furniture. The beds were old and worn out, pillows were flat and uncomfortable. The A/C did not work in one of the bedrooms on main level. Also, the light going to the upstairs has an electrical problem. We couldn't get it to turn off unless the switch was just between on and off. Not safe. Light in kitchen would not turn on. Overall this could be a nice place, but Jerry needs to invest some money and get people who will clean the place up.

Visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon
The house was conveniently located near the park entrance. The lay-out, and the size of the house fit our needs perfectly. It has a nice deck that looks out at Moro Rock. Unfortunately it was too hot to use during the day. However, we utilized the deck after dark for star gazing with a telescope. Great exposure and a dark sky to enhance the star gazing.

Needs a good clean and a new neighborhood.
The long dirt driveway was unkept, overgrown, and potholed with deep puddles. From the outside, the house looked fine. However on entering the foyer, we were met with the smell of old dirt. The house was not clean. Mouse droppings adorned the garage floor with the sounds of mice echoing in the walls. The furniture and bed were older and in need of a good clean. Few things were newer, but not enough to distract from the old. Across the shared driveway, there was a house that appeared abandoned with boards over its windows, but was notheless inhabited by a shirtless man who spent a lot of time staring at us from his front yard (adorned with ancient vehicles, hoods open). During the afternoon, the police came to visit the neighbor, who didn't answer his door, but soon he was outside again. Then around 10:30 pm, someone tried to break in through the kitchen window. After 30 minutes, 25 officers showed up in force. They asked us if we were armed and we were told to defend ourselves and advised to kill the burglar with a kitchen knife--- we were assured no charges would be filed. They expressed little surprise at the call. We left the house and slept into my car for the remainder of the night far away from the rental, fearing a return visit, and another 30 minute wait for authorities to arrive. We use VRBO several times/yr... this was a first.
