Stunning

The location of this house is outstanding! You can see the beach, a glacier and wild horses all from one room. The house was extremely clean and well equipped. Check in was a breeze. We had plenty of space for our family of 8.

Horrible Experience

After traveling half way across the world to see Iceland for the first time, with just 30 minutes before check in time we had still not received check in instructions. I reached out to the host, who responded by canceling our reservation. He said he wasn't able to get the cleaning done and wasn’t in the area. There we were 3 hours in the middle of nowhere and no place to stay. I pleaded with him. He was cort and said he had meant to cancel us earlier but had forgotten. We were left completely high and dry. Furthermore, the host did not offer any consideration or let alone any assistance finding a place to stay. Our family of 4 was left to fend for ourselves at 5:00 pm on a Friday night in the middle of a remote foreign town. I spoke with VRBO and they promised to fully investigate. They also helped us find the only hotel with some availability for the first night. After that we were on our own. In addition, I requested a refund and received notification that about 80% of what we paid was being refunded. I am still trying to track down the balance. The lack of empathy and care from the host was mind boggling. He was either completely scamming or he just didn’t give a crap. Either way, Don't book this home. Worst experience ever.
