2024 Eclipse
We had an amazing experience starting with the setting and lodging. The cozy cabin on the peninsula point on Lake Eden is lovely and the views and the cabin were wonderful. We had a stellar view of the eclipse. The lake was still frozen with fresh snow on top which added to the magical experience. Jim is a great host and quick answer to questions. Hope to come back again! -carol

Easter getaway
Property was beautiful and serene. We visited in winter and the lake was frozen. I bet it is beautiful in the summer time. Host and home were great.

Dream Vermont house
We were so happy with this rental. Its location is idyllic, the house a lovely piece of arts and crafts history, and located for easy drives to Stowe and a Jay peak. The house had almost everything needed to make it like home, and it was immaculate. We loved that there was no tv as it forced the teens to play games and listen to music with us:) Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

Had a nice time, thank you!
We liked the cabin. Perfect size. Beautiful area. Fireplace smelled and needs to be cleaned. I think a recent tenant let smoke get out of hand maybe...? We did have one fire, but then left with all of our clothes smelling like fire. I think a fireplace insert would be a perfect home improvement and help to avoid these issues. And the fire would heat the house more efficiently. Loved the kitchen and the views. Beds were comfy and bathrooms were clean. We even got a snowstorm! Thank you for having us, I hope we can come again!

Little cabin by the lake
This cabin on the lake is quaint and comfortable. It has all the amenities and comforts of home. The owners are friendly, easily accessible and helpful. We were there for a ski vacation. It is close to both Jay Peak and Smugglers Notch. We would recommend this cabin for a getaway any time of the year!

About the host

Jim and Oonagh live in Williston, Vermont, one hour from the Eden lake house. We have one son that is currently college-age (as of 2021).

Why they chose this property

This is our only vacation home. When purchased, it was a summer cottage built in the 1930s. We built an addition and winterized it for year-round use in 2003. Our goal was to maintain the rustic "camp" feel of the original cottage. We use it in the winter to ski at Jay Peak and in the summer for the lake. Lake Eden is very clean - great for swimming. None of the milfoil, weed or algae problems seen in other Vermont lakes. It's a wonderful relaxing escape.

What makes this property unique

Great waterfront, clean lake, large platform dock, a real "On Golden Pond" kind of experience. A rustic Vermont "camp" feel with all the modern conveniences.

Great downhill and cross country skiing close by in winter. Jay Peak waterpark and skating rink are new attractions at Jay.
