Wake up to an unbelievable sunrise that never disappoints. Step outside to a sugar sand beach with unbeatable rock collecting (lots of Petosky stones) as you get your steps in walking along the miles of shoreline of crystal clear Lake Huron. Days of beach life are enhanced with 2 kayaks and even a small rowboat! A large beach swing is there for daytime sunning and evening stargazing by the fire pit. You may even catch the Northern Lights! There are plenty of beach towels, too. While lounging on the beach you may even get a glimpse of our resident bald eagle fishing. My large beautifully decorated home has 3 decks, a large grill, a cute fire pit, bench seating and plenty of chairs to enjoy the “star of the show”, Lake Huron. Inside you will find a large, fully appointed kitchen featuring full-size appliances including French drawer refrigerator, gas stove and dishwasher so you may prepare any kind of meal. 2 coffee pots, full size stand mixer, pots and pans, large stock pot, baking dishes, casserole dishes to bake in, crockpot and more. Along with recipe books is a notebook with as many of the local menus that I could find. Family memories will be made filled with fun from card decks, many games and jigsaw puzzles with puzzle table. You won’t miss any of your favorite shows as there are 3 TVs with cable. Don’t worry about “staying connected” as there is Wifi as well as an office for those that need to work. Every bed has a handmade quilt (made by me), lots of pillows and extra blankets for a wonderful night’s sleep. Bathrooms are well stocked with towels and all the necessary amenities you need.
Activities abound surrounding my slice of paradise. Why not go on a lighthouse tour as Tawas Point lighthouse to the south and Sturgeon Point Lighthouse is north and close by. The mighty Au Sable River is a 10 minute drive where you can canoe, go tubing, take a Happy Hour cruise on the Au Sable River Queen or visit the many sites as you travel along River Road including Foote Site Dam, Lumberman’s Monument and Iargo Springs. Yankee Air Museum, located at the former Wurtsmith Air Force base, is a must see for history, aviation and military buffs and is only 7 miles south. Golf courses are minutes away from 3 par courses at Springport and Greenbush Golf Courses to Lakewood Shores 4 courses featuring the nationally acclaimed The Gailes Scottish-styled seaside course. Find your favorite hiking trail in The Huron National forest with its abundance of natural beauty and wildlife. Ice cream shops from Dairy Queen to hand-dipped cones are within a couple of miles in either directions. Tait’s Bill of Fare continues to offer fine dining along with daily specials at very affordable prices served in their Victorian dining room room or while seated in their great bar. The new Huron Out Restaurant, the Office, Hilltop all have great burgers and much more for the whole family. There are several places that serve a great breakfast that can hold you until dinner. Bowling, yup, along with a great karaoke night. Throughout the summer there are many events in Oscoda, East Tawas and ending with Harmony Weekend in Harrisville Saturday and Sunday Labor Day weekend in Harrisville.
