Great Lodge

Great lodge and location for getting the family and friends together. Tons of space, well stocked kitchen for cooking large meals(2 stoves), great for kids, and very close to Elk Mountain.

Perfect!

In life few experiences exceed your expectations. The Quarry Hill property is one those experiences. The house is perfect for large families with an ideal setup for sleeping and relaxing. My entire family loved every aspect of the facility. In addition, it’s proximity to Elk Mountain for our ski adventures was very convenient. I recommend this property without any reservations.

Spacious House for Large Group

This is a large property with multiple buildings, presumably all available for rent. We stayed in the “Farmhouse.” It is a large building that easily accommodated our group of 13. There is a large kitchen with two stoves and a big serving counter. There are 2 large dining tables, plenty of room for everyone to sit and eat together. I loved the family room area. There is a pool table and huge seating area around the TV. Large windows at the far end provide a great view.

Annual Golf Trip

We had 16 guys and loved the house. Lots of room! We all sat in the great room and weren't crowded at all. Plus the two dinning tables and great kitchen space made our meal time fantastic. House was well supplied. Only issues we had (mostly minor): 1. Fireworks going off at and after midnight two nights in a row. 2. Hot tub was not filled and ready. It took two days to get filled and up to temp. 3. House manager didn't seem to know we were checking in when we did. She had not finished cleaning. 4. Didn't get check-in process and code until day before check in, after I reached out to owner. Owner and house manager we very nice and helpful. We had a great time during our stay and all the guys commented how much they loved the house.

We stayed for three nights with two families of five, although there is room to sleep another six. The house design is great for large groups because the two large living spaces are to the right of the house and the bedrooms and bathrooms are to the left divided by a large mudroom laundry room and hot tub area. We were all too tired from skiing to stay up late however if you have young children you need to put to bed and the adults would like to stay up In the hot tub, playing pool or watching TV, the house is very quiet. One really neat feature is an old fashion milkshake maker and a separate freezer that we stocked with half gallons of Hershey's ice cream ( I was surprised how many flavors were available at the corner store). There are two stove tops and full oven. Plenty of dishes, pots, pans. There's a dishwasher, washer and dryer and lots of seating. The house has a wonderful fireplace with a built-in heaterator that kicks out a tremendous amount of heat. Firewood stacked and located near the front door so no need to bring your own or pay for overpriced firewood. There is also a gas fireplace next to the pool table. Elk Mountain takes about five minutes to get to and the Idlewild ski shop and corner store or even closer. This is a great property and we will definitely do this again.

Perfect ski weekend at Farm House

This was our 2nd time at Elk and first time renting out Farm House. We enjoyed Elk again and Farm House made our stay comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with equipment, dishes and utensils. The only thing missing may have been a dustpan so we could sweep up. The house was clean and cozy. Although the bedrooms are small, our small group of five families (10 adults, 9 young children) stayed comfortably. We had 3 air mattresses for 5 of the kids because the house only sleeps 16. The 3 bathrooms are large and clean and we never felt like we had to wait in line to use them. There was never a problem with hot water. The mud room/laundry area was large - the washer & dryer were large and detergent was supplied. There were sufficient towels and linens. The indoor hot tub was great - the kids loved it and the parents really appreciated that we could keep an eye on them because it was right off the mudroom rather than outside on a deck. The best feature of this house was the common area and kitchen! They were so large and cozy. There were two long, large tables so that our group could all sit together and eat. We never felt like we were on top of one another when eating or preparing meals. The house is 5 miles from Elk - a 10 minute drive, and so easy to find. We are definitely planning to return next year.

Lovely property, wonderful visit!

We had an amazing time during our stay here! We had a party with our family over the weekend, and the venue host was incredibly kind and helped us make sure that we had everything we needed, including loaning us some extra tables and chairs, which was honestly above and beyond what we were promised in our rental, so we really appreciated it. The property is gorgeous and so spacious (both inside and outside)- we got lots of compliments from our guests about how beautiful the place was. And the hot tub was incredibly nice. Tons of beds (mostly bunk beds), tons of kitchen space, lots of places to sit and eat, loved the fire pit, loved the grassy fields, creek & pond, and random baseball field all on the property. Sometimes it took a few nudges to get a response from the host, but we always got what we needed in time. Would definitely recommend this place!

Great house for a ski weekend!

House was great. Very spacious for bigger groups in the social areas. Kitchen had ample cooking supplies and were smartly labeled. Fireplace warmed the entire dining area. Family room was huge. Pool table was nice but all the cues had no tips. Main tv could use a size upgrade and surround sound as you had to have volume high to hear and then it was hard to talk. Operation was very easy though. Plenty of games which we took advantage of playing. Bedrooms were fine but a couple mattresses need replacing or a flip. Hot tub was nice plus. Very convenient to Elk mountain. Overall we had a great weekend and will definitely be back!

Convenient, spacious & fun!

We enjoyed our stay! I appreciated that the linens (blankets, pillows, sheets), towels (bath, kitchen, hot tub), and fire wood were supplied. When traveling with kids, that adds a lot to your packing! Location to Elk Mountain was perfect and although it was winter, the location to the lake was beautiful as well. Contact with owner and property manager were friendly and timely. We will be booking another stay!

Our family got together to spend time with each other and ski Elk Mountain. What a great place! Check in was easy and everything was ready when we arrived. The house is spacious and we had plenty of room to spread out for various activities. Everyone appreciated the hot tub after skiing. We will be back!

Great home with plenty of space for large groups and many activity options

The house was great, more than enough space for 13 people to sleep and spend time around the house. There are also many activity options, including wiffleball, cornhole, volleyball, and basketball. Only disappointment was that the hot tub did not work, and we were not notified of this ahead of time. One of the main things we wanted from our mountain weekend was a hot tub. We had a very fun time otherwise!

Perfect for large family

The farm house has plenty to do to keep a large family entertained: hiking, fishing, vollyball, softball, cornhole, horseshoes, firepit, BBQ, and on and on. The farm house is spacious. The great room is fabulous, enough seating for everyone, a separate room with a pool table, a sizable kitchen, and dining seating for large party. Hot tub for relaxing. Five bedrooms and three bathrooms give everyone plenty of room.

Great Elk Lodge

We had a wonderful stay and the lodge was perfectly located close to Elk Mountain. We had a large group including 10 children ages 10 months to 7 years old. The kids had a blast sledding in the back yard and playing in the great room. The adults greatly enjoyed the hot tub and pool table by the gas fireplace. The lodge is way larger then it appears in the photos and it has all the proper accommodations. Highly recommended!

Great house for ski trip!

We had a great week staying at the Quarry Hill Farmhouse. Skiing at Elk Mountain was minutes away. Plenty of room for everyone to relax when we got back from the mountain. Having children with us, we particularly liked that the bedrooms were separated from the common areas. We would not hesitate to rent this house again!
