About this property

Historic Cold Spring Home - Walk to Train,Trails, Restaurants - No Car Needed

If you're looking to experience the small town magic of Cold Spring, or explore the majestic beauty of the Hudson Highlands...and you don't want to worry about driving anywhere...you've found your destination.

Our spacious backyard is one of the biggest and best in the village - perfect for campfires on cool fall nights.

Everything you need is about a five min. walk
- grocery store (with solid selection of fresh produce, organic foods, craft beers, etc.)
- cafes, restaurants, boutique shops
- hiking trails (miles and miles and miles of well maintained adventures)
- little stony point (Cold Spring's not-so-hidden gem, with panoramic Hudson river views, and Sandy Beach for a quick 'wade' in the water)
- Bull Hill (a short but arduous hike that can reward you with a view to the Manhattan skyline on a clear day)

Our home is not posh, but fully functional, warm and inviting - and if you want to experience the Norman Rockwell small town Main Street vibe...its all about location!

About the host

Host profile image
On July 9th of this year (2023), our little slice of heaven here in the Hudson Valley suffered an historic and catastrophic storm that dropped 9 inches of rain in about 4 hours, resulting in a torrent of water that managed to find its way into our basement, and carved a hole in our foundation, necessitating significant structural repairs.

The good news is that the damage was confined to the basement, with no impact to our living space.

So while we are in the process of making subterranean repairs, we've decided to open up our home to share access to the 'Brigadoon' of the Hudson Valley.

We've relocated for the time-being, but want to furnish our house for guests so that they have everything they need to access everything the village has to offer.

We're offering a comfortable, warm and welcoming home - not posh 5-star accommodations, mind you - but rather an affordable option in contrast to the expense of booking a hotel and/or having to rent a car.

We commuted into the city for a decade or more - the train is an 11 min walk down the hill (a bit longer on the way up).

We'll continue to make improvements over the coming months, so please forgive any signs of construction outside the home - we'll do everything to make sure your stay within the walls of our home is as pleasant as possible!
