GETTING AROUND

We strongly recommend having your own vehicle as there are a multitude of activities within a 30-minute drive which you will not want to miss out on. The Apt does not have parking. We recommend leaving your car in private parking. You can also use Uber to get around San Juan.

Excellent Location to Experience OSJ

This apartment is in an excellent location in Old San Juan. If you want to experience OSJ this is the place to stay. OSJ is old. The building is old. There is no elevator for your suitcases. Set your expectations accordingly. But the apartment was clean and well-suited for our purpose (a place for five people to stay before boarding a cruise ship). The balcony is a great place to watch the happenings on the street. But Old San Juan is not a quiet place at night, there are party people walking the streets and vehicles driving by at all hours, sometimes they feel the need to honk their horn as they drive down the street. If you need pristine quiet at night then find a hotel somewhere else, but if you want to experience life in OSJ then stay here. There is a rooftop patio which is a nice place hang out with your crew, or just hang out on your apartment balcony. If you bring back leftovers from a restaurant you can store them in the refrigerator and heat them in the microwave, but don’t plan to cook meals in the kitchenette because there is no oven or stove (not a problem for us, there are tons of restaurants all around). We arrived and left by taxi. Everything in OSJ is a walkable distance. It’s a couple of blocks to the CVS for necessities (snacks, drinks, toiletry items you forgot to pack, etc.). You can walk to the forts, bars, restaurants, clubs, endless souvenir shops, and the bay.
