About the host

Host profile image
I am a Miami native, transplanted to Jacksonville in 2000. It's a great city for sports, golf, fishing, the beaches and all things historic -- like Springfield or St. Augustine or San Marco or Riverside or Avondale. Its a great and vibrant city without the big city congestion and crowds.

Why they chose this property

I have lived in large cities and near the city center in major cities, including Atlanta and Chicago. It was natural for me to migrate to neighborhoods close Downtown Jacksonville. I started my business in San Marco and later discovered Springfield where we purchased our first office building. What a great discovery. Springfield is a close-knit neighborhood where you know almost everyone. There are many community events that allow for mingling with neighbors and making new friends - or reconnecting with old ones.

What makes this property unique

The home was built in 1905 and completely renovated in 2008. I purchased it in 2016. I am an engineer and love energy-efficient design and all things tech. So, naturally, I loaded the house with both. I enjoy the exterior spaces around the house almost as much as I do the interior spaces. Its just a cool house that constantly gets compliments for its charm and savvy.
