Blowing Rock is a quaint mountain town where people are very friendly and your dogs can eat dinner with you at one of the many excellent restaurants with outside patios!
The downtown area has many shops and delicious restaurants for you to enjoy. There are wonderful hiking trails in the area with easy trails to more adventurous ones. There is tubing and kayaking in the summer, winery touring in the fall, skiing and sledding in the winter, and lots of other activities for you to enjoy in the spring. We are only 5 or so miles to Tweetsie Railroad and High Gravity Adventures.
We are next to the Welcome Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway; the parkway makes its way through the heart of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains and allows visitors to enjoy some of the best mountain views in the world. We are a short distance to local ski resorts, sledding, ice skating, and more winter fun!
You will have the entire home to yourselves as well as the deck and outside property. The hot tub and other items on the deck are yours alone to enjoy, as well as the entire house and yard. Sitting in the hot tub at night or on the deck, you have an amazing view of the stars, the lights of the Appalacian Ski Resort, and the meteor showers.
The road the house is on, Henderson Gap Road, is a very steep mountain roads like most in the area. In the House Manual, we have alternative directions for you that the locals use in the event of snow. You will receive the House Manual prior to your stay beginning.
You don’t need a four wheel drive at all during most months; our little Ford C-Max handles it just fine. In the winter though, you should check the weather to see if there is a lot of snow in Blowing Rock, if there is, a 4x4 vehicle would be preferred so you don't get stuck.
There are two lazy boy chairs and couch with recliners that can be slept on downstairs. However, all bedrooms are located on the second floor which can only be accessed by a set of stairs. There is a full bathroom on the first floor and the second floor; both have a shower and bathtub. Note: the bathrooms are not set up for handicapped accessible. The front entry way to the cabin is handicapped accessible.
The cabin is equipped with commercial grade high speed internet.
The Fire Extinguisher is in the kitchen underneath the sink. The First Aid kit is above the washing machine. There is a combination smoke alarm/carbon monoxide detector in the kitchen. Additionally, there are two upstairs as well. There is also an emergency escape ladder in the upstairs bedroom with one bed in the closet.
There are beach towels next to the dryer for you to use in the hot tub.
There is bottled water and pop/soda in the refrigerator for your enjoyment as well as a Keurig and large supply of various teas and Starbucks coffee, as well as condiments needed. The Keurig latte and cappucino maker.

About the host
Hosted by Thomas M. Burlager
I enjoy being a VRBO host and taking care of guests! I try to anticipate their needs and that they have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
I was born and raised just outside of Detroit, Michigan in Fraser. I live in beautiful North Carolina and have lived here for nearly 10 years. Though I love the beaches here, my heart is in the mountains particularly in Blowing Rock.
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful on most nights. Everyone is very friendly.
