We love the quaint feel of seasonal cabins/cottages and this one was amazing!! The front porch was Adirondack Heaven! The beds were very comfortable, with cozy bedding. The kitchen was super clean and offered any utensils and cookware needed. The view of the lake and the songs of the loons was intoxicating. I recommend this property to anyone who wants the ADK experience !
Very easy booking Juniper cabin on Paradox Lake. My husband, myself and our three large dogs enjoyed our week. Stay on the lake. Perfect spot for me to write and my husband to fish using kayaks provided. Cabin was clean with plenty of amenities. Just need to bring cooler of food and fishing poles.
Great location, had everything you need, the back screened in porch was wonderful, so was the firepit. Great for families with small kids. Would rent again.
Cozy oasis. Shower very tiny, but screened-in porch and cottage were perfect for a couple. The location & loons were magical. Cottage stocked bare minimums, but that just made us enjoy life more simply and focus on the nature & surroundings & our own quiet retreat. Thank you for sharing your sweet, rustic place.
We loved our stay at Juniper! The cabin had everything we needed. Upon arrival there was no electricity due to a storm. Melissa and Tobias were quick to respond. They brought us a generator and water. They were so very helpful and friendly. I can't think of a better place to be stuck without power than on this beautiful lake. The lake was very clean. Our kids enjoyed swimming, fishing and kayaking. We fell asleep each night listening to the loons. Looking forward to future stays at this lovely cabin!
Comfortable. Rustic. Well stocked. TV good. Small but effective shower. Great porch. Bring a boat if you can & launch it nearby. Very adequate parking. Melissa GREAT! AC & heat very good. I will revisit.
My kids really enjoyed to closeness of the lake. The gas fireplace rattled with every step you took inside the small, intimate cabin. We all had to walk really softly and slowly so as not to wake people or make a lot of clanging rattling noise with every step. Otherwise, the cabin was clean and a nice experience. The lake was a huge delight for the kids who swam for many hours every day.
The cabin was perfect for my family of 4.
Came stocked with everything we needed.
We took advantage of swimming in the very clean lake and the kayaks!
Coffee on the enclosed porch was everything I could hope for.
Schroon Lake was a cool little town to mill about in. Day trips to Lake George rounded out the vacation.
Major storm blew through on the last day and knocked out power. The water runs on power too so we were out of luck with running water.
So, word to the wise, bring flashlights just in case.
Cell service is almost non-existent in that area unless you have Verizon - so download a map on your device to get around. There is plenty to do and see. Great place to stay and a lovely area to visit. Plus the loons were awesome!
We recently stayed at this charming, rustic cabin on the lake and had a wonderful time. The location is perfect, offering serene lake views and a fantastic beach area. The provided kayaks were a hit with the whole family, allowing us to explore the lake at our leisure.
The cabin itself has a quaint, rustic charm. While it's not luxurious, it has all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the living area was cozy for relaxing evenings.
However, there were a few downsides. We encountered carpenter ants and even had a mouse in the house, which was a bit unsettling. Additionally, the shower is quite small, which might be inconvenient for some guests.
Overall, if you're looking for a peaceful retreat with a rustic feel and great outdoor activities, this cabin is a solid choice. Just be prepared for a few wildlife encounters and a compact shower space.

Beautiful paradox lake stinky cabin
The cabin sits on a beautiful piece of land above Paradox Lake. The screen room (with fresh air) was our savior as the cabin has a very moldy/toxic smell going on. Coming from the bathroom area, water damage around toilet area. Hopefully not black mold but something yucky going on. We stayed because we we were just to tired to move. Hopefully the cabin gets the attention it need’s furniture was dirty too I had brought blankets to cover couches just in case & I used them. Melissa seems to be a nice person but we work hard for our money and just expected more.

Cozy as can be
This is what VRBO is all about: a well priced cabin with tons of love and thought into it's whole atmosphere. Pictures do not do justice how cute this cabin is. The porch is stunning, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well suited to make a feast, and the location is perfect for a base to explore a diverse area. My pregnant wife had no problem with the stairs down to the lake, and the lake itself has very clear water and a muck-free sandy bottom. We want to come back with our toddler who it is well suited for. The kitchen is well stocked with the essentials, but bring any kitchen gadgets you might think you will want. A wood stove or fireplace in the cabin would have been amazing, but I completely understand why the owner wouldn't want to risk that with renters, and the fire pit outside is more than sufficient as it has a perfect view of the sunset. I've rented a couple dozen different places through VRBO and this is probably my favorite, and certainly one of only a couple that I will be returning to. Bravo and thank you so much for being kind enough to rent this beautiful cabin for all to enjoy!

Nice Quiet Rustic
Our family of four stayed three nights. The cabin was very clean and a good size. The master bed was comfortable and the kids had no complaints about their beds. Kitchen was well stocked. Bathroom had plenty of towels and all the facilities worked fine (the hot water gets very hot very fast). It was cool and quiet at night, there are room fans that were sufficient. As noted and pictured, there are stairs (and a not-busy street) to get to/from the lake. The kayaks and lake toys were readily available and in good condition. There was another family staying in the shared cabin next door but we had no problems sharing the kayaks or lakeside area.
It was our first time to the Adirondacks and we enjoyed it. Paradox lake is clean, the cabin was sufficient, and we were 15 minutes from shops for things we needed/forgot. We did a half day trip to Lake Placid and were back in time to kayak around the lake.
While we have absolutely no complaints about the cabin and in general, the property, we probably won't be back because of lake access and the lake itself. The stairs to the lake are steep and you are not able to see the private beach from up at the cabin. The lakeshore is rocky, not sandy (the private beach has a small area of sand for a few chairs). These things are a negative for us because we have kids (under age 13). Again, the cabin and amenities are good, our experience with the owner was fine. It's a nice place and was a nice experience. We just prefer something different.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean, well stocked and maintained, and pet friendly (so we could bring our Corgi and Scotty). Even though it rained a lot during our stay, we could sit on the screened porch and listen to the rain, which was very soothing and kept the blood thirsty mosquitoes at bay. The only issue we had was that our party included several folks with mobility problems (no one's getting any younger), and getting down to the lake by the two sets of stairs was a challenge. We still had a great time, and now I know to ask how accessible things are before I book a stay.
Overall we have a wonderful time at Paradox Lake. The lake and beach area were very clean and peaceful. The kids enjoyed swimming and use of the kayaks and paddle boat. The house was rustic but nice, we loved the screened porch to eat and play games on. We loved the private firepit. The owners were very responsive, we had some issues related to the weather. The cleanliness of the house could have been a bit better, we found drink containers that were from previous renters and there was no refills for the swifter to clean up the floor. We lost power the last night(again weather related) and our neighboring cottage turned on a generator which was very loud and disruptive.

My sister and I purchased the 2 cabins and the main house in the Fall of 2013, fulfilling the dream of having a small piece of the Adirondack Mountains.
Why they chose this property
Paradox Lake still has maintained the serene beauty of the Adirondacks. Located about 45 minutes from Gore Mountain and Lake George which has plenty of shopping restaurants, mini golf and other entertainment
What makes this property unique
The Cabin now has fiberoptic wifi and a Verizon pole for Verizon cell users. No Television, giving you the opportunity to focus on what is truly important.
