This home is in the heart of the beautiful town of Westport, is perfect to kick back and relax. Our home is comfortable with a great flow from indoors to outside. My children were raised here, family gatherings that spill to the great back yard spring, summer and fall. Touch football all year long (or soccer) on our flat one acre. Outdoor grilling or many nights just looking at the stars and watch the wind in the trees. Summer hear the music from the Levitt Pavillion (or join the fun - its free almost everynight in summer!). Winter snowsled at Winslow Park, Ice Skate at Longshore and it is a must to attend Staples High School Candlelight Service in December!

KITCHEN: New double oven. Everything you need to cook but it is an older home so kitchen reflects the time. refrigerator with FILTERED water on the door and inside door pitcher to poor for filtered morning water coffee. That said our city water is great too. Of course all the tools to cook and entertain. Spring, Summer and Fall eat in the Sun Room surrounded by glass. More formal sit down, a black lacquer table holds 8 comfortably but can seat 10. Child seats and table. Food service supplies for toddlers. We have 7 grandchildren under 9.

CATERING: There are WONDERFUL take out choices from Collyer Catering and Fresh Market to Stew Leonard's and an array of restaurants who deliver. As well as our favorite, gas grill out of doors barbecue. Our new favorite is Craft Butchery in Saugatuck, a part of Westport, just off exit 17. Organic meats.

ONE FLOOR LIVING: 3 bedrooms, both baths, living room, dining room, kitchen all on the same floor. Master bedroom has attached bath. Bathroom in Master is large shower. Large enough to fit a waterproof chair if desired.
Master bedroom has private deck/exit to yard with all year sun.

Tuned baby grand piano in living room.
Large screen TV in living room.
Dining room with easy seating for 10.

SUNROOM: a small step down with doors from the kitchen, living room and french doors framing the dining room to the sun room to the expansive backyard. The sunroom glass sliders open fully. Wood pellet stove warms this lovely space although it does require filling the pellet feeder.

BACK DECK: Summer time find chaise lounges, table with chairs, sofa all make the back deck a casual fun place to play cards, read or take a nap. Winter is a table top with four chairs. The charcoal grill is out for year round use. Traditional charcoal grill or use small propane grill. Your choice. Private back yard with open space. Daily deer crossing, chipmunks, squirrels due to the nut trees.

BASEMENT: white and bright spacious laundry room with folding table (s), ironing board and iron, steamer....a gaming lounge with tv, game consoles, vintage games and consoles, VHS and DVD with an assortment of both from the last 20 stairmaster, nautilus, free weights, bands, yoga matts, treadmill and scale for those who are very energetic.

Books line the walls. From classics, to adventure, Bernstain bears, kids classics, teen fantasy, history ....a lifetime of readers selections! Enjoy! And for children who find a title they like and are not it a lending library, complete your read and pass it on.....

Westport stay for Yale Baseball season
We had a wonderful experience staying at Betsy's home in Westport. We stayed for several weeks while our son play his final baseball season for Yale, just a short drive to New Haven. Betsy's home had all of the comforts of our own home, plenty of amenities, and very, very clean. My husband was able to work comfortably daily, as did our daughter, who trained in from NYC to stay overnight a few times. Betsy was very responsive to all our inquiries, from using the local tennis courts to having packages delivered. We joined the local Y for our workouts & enjoyed many walks & runs around the neighborhoods. The village is minutes away - either on foot or car, with shopping & restaurants. Just a fabulous stay. Thank you Betsy!

Beautiful home!
Perfect home for a long weekend or vacation in Connecticut. Great for kids and families and the host was very accommodating. The sun room and pellet stove were a great addition. We had a blast!

Charming older home
This lovely home on a large lot in a quiet development charms with its comfortable and relaxing ambience. Although finishes and decor are somewhat dated, the home was clean and very inviting. We were treated to visits by deer and a red fox most mornings as we had coffee on the enclosed porch overlooking the back yard. A great place to stay for our pups too!

lovely weekend
Dave was a wonderful host and the house is so comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed seeing a couple of deer a few times while lounging in the hot tub. The back yard view is amazing with a gorgeous copper beech tree in back and another in front. Hope we can return soon.

About the host

I have enjoyed the community immensely. Since moving here for work many years ago my children and I count this as our home. We all dive and travel far and wide for our ocean experiences. Coming home, I love to walk Compo Beach. Year round. We take in the sea, fresh air and then retire to our home for nature at its best. Coyote, Deer including big daddy with a rack, hawk, fox and an array of spring birds to watch.

Why they chose this property

Westport is our home port. It has community, the arts, summer sand and sea. Our neighborhood is just amazing, wonderful families and a wide range of young uns'. Even though mine are in their next phase, coming home is special because of this community.

What makes this property unique

Fire in the fireplace, two months to spring and summer days follow.. Copper Beach Trees grace our front and side yard. Spectacular specimens. Even our tree people were in awe of their bark and beauty. Two Japanese Maples are counter points to the Copper Beach trees. The natural setting backing on to our property is amazing for an 'in town' home. Our winter brought 23 solidly fed turkeys to our lawn to feast on beech and chestnuts, a beautiful red fox just this morning walked the parameter, blue jays, cardinals and an array of other winged friends are here and much more visible with the trees without foliage.

Walk to town, rest in the private world that is your back a change of venue, if just for a moment.
