Casa Phil was an amazing property that we want to go back to as soon as possible.

The location was great, the views were stupendous and Andrea was the best host one could ask for. The property is very private and close to all the locations you would want to visit. The food she prepared for us was the most delicious food we had on the island. We will definitely be back!

Excellent House & Location

We had a great time at Casa Phil. The views are amazing and the house staff was very accommodating and friendly. Carlos did a great job making sure that we were taken care of during our stay. Las Terrenas is a wonderful place to visit. Highly recommend renting some Quads and taking them around town. Several beaches to enjoy during your stay. Don’t miss the small seafood trailer/restaurant in El Portillo. Great food.

Amazing!!!

Had a wonderful time staying at CASA PHIL!!! Couldn't have asked for more from Andrea and Carlos. Only wished we had more time. We ended up spending a lot of time as playa bonita, one of the more beautiful beaches we have ever seen (compared to hawaii, costa rica, puerto rico, florida). Would absolutely visit again!

Beautiful Views and Great Staff

We really enjoyed our stay. Carlos is VERY quick to respond and answer questions! The girls cooked some delicious food and were such a joy to be around! Our only complaint was that the hot tub was not working and the pool water was too cold to enjoy which is why the hot tub would have been nice. Definitely consider renting an ATV to navigate town! It’s so much easier for parking and driving!

Great stay! House and staff deliver!!

Stayed for 7 days Feb 15-22. Carlos and crew were easy to work with and communication were awesome. They were flexible and rolled with our requests. They went above and beyond and made our DR experience. Jackie and Esmeralda took care of our needs and their cooking was 2nd to none! We spend almost all our time at the house. However when we did go out Carlos helped out with rides and suggestions. Overall I would highly recommend Casa Phil!

Amazing place in Las Terrenas

We just spent 7 amazing days at #casaphil. The house is truly beautiful, situated on a hill offering breathtaking views from every room and amazing amenities including an infinity pool, jacuzzi, comfortable bedrooms and, above all, an amazing staff - Jacky and Esmeralda were attentive, helpful and friendly in every way, from early morning coffees to delicious lunches and even helping with our kids!). The house is super well maintained and safe, and it’s just a short walk to gorgeous Playa Ballenas, with restaurants and activities in abundance. Phil and Carlos were were fantastic hosts - they were available throughout to provide guidance and support. We have travelled throughout the Caribbean a bit and Casa Phil and Las Terrenas will be hard to beat. We will be back for sure!

Perfect for extended family trip

6 adults and 3 children enjoyed this gorgeous open concept Villa. All of our questions were responded to quickly on WhatsApp. I appreciated the baby gates on all the stairs. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the beach with the kids. Amazing beach. We used a van when we wanted to get to the town area. We spent most of our time in the infinity pool. We are so glad to hired a photographer to take some poolside family photos. Will be recommending to other large groups!

Fantastic Vacation!!!

This was a very memorable and exceptional vacation, for the most part due to the exceptional Casa Phil and the service we received. My wife an I visit the Caribbean every year in a different location because we feel like we have not quite found that "one place" we would want to return to.......I think we have found it. The house is immaculate, and the house staff are outstanding. We can't thank you enough for a wonderful time...hopefully see you next year!!!!! For those that are considering visiting Las Terrenas...I HIGHLY recommend this lovely, safe, fun little town.

Best of the best

This property completely blew us away. There were 7 of us but it could easily sleep double that. The house is massive and all open air with electronic shutters that close at night. The price includes the house keeper and chef Andrea who cooks you an amazing breakfast and lunch of your choice everyday as well as makes the beds and cleans the house. The house is a 5 min walk to the beach and 30 min to walk to town, but there is really no reason to leave the house. We rented ATV"s to explore different nearby beaches. Thanks for the great stay!

Annual family vacation

We take a yearly vacation with our adult children and their significant others. My daughter found Casa Phil and from the moment we booked to the second we left, we were extremely well communicated with and cared for. Carlos arranged airport transportation and exciting island excursions to everyday things like making sure the bar was stocked and we had all our favorite snacks. Jackie made us feel like we were staying with family, and we were genuinely sad to leave. The home and grounds are exquisite, well maintained and spacious enough so everyone had their own place to escape to. We rented a 6 person buggy for the week, which was perfect for getting to the beach and around town. We all plan to visit again! 10/10!

Casa Phil = Paradise!!

We spent a glorious week at Casa Phil! From the moment we arrived we felt at ease. The house is gorgeous - better than the photos. The views absolutely spectacular. Phil was there to greet us upon our arrival and was always available by phone should we need a restaurant recommendation or any other help. Andrea, the housekeeper/cook, was just wonderful. The house and grounds are kept very clean and yet you can easily feel relaxed even with kids & teenagers. The food was incredible! Any request was met with a smile and we we're throughly stuffed at every meal. We were a family with a few additional adult friends, but the house is also perfect for 2 families traveling together. We can't wait to come back to Casa Phil!! We highly recommend this to anyone who wants a truly special holiday.

A week of relaxation!

We LOVED our stay at Casa Phil! Carlos (the host) and Jackie and Jandice (the chefs) did everything to make us feel welcome and relaxed. We were spoiled with the meals and tropical drinks they prepared for us and took advantage of the in-house massages, pedicures, and manicures. The refrigerator was always stocked with whatever food and drink we asked for, the AC worked great for sleeping, and we didn't want or need for anything! We also enjoyed a day at the beach a short walk from the villa, a few meals at local restaurants and a beaches tour at a different spot on the island. Carlos arranged everything for us from taxis to costs. We always felt safe and everyone couldn't have been nicer. Casa Phil was the perfect spot for the six of us to enjoy a girls trip- we didn't want to leave!

Destination Relaxation

Where to begin? Casa Phil was the most amazing vacation we have ever experienced! Every detail was thought of and when we wanted (massages by the pool) or needed something (groceries/alcohol) it was taken care of. Andrea & Victor absolutely completed our stay! We did not eat out one night, there was no reason to as Andrea's cooking was beyond what we could have gotten by eating out. We did tour Las Terrenas via scooters and four wheelers quite a bit and that was one of our favorite things. We loved being in the culture and experiencing it fully. The private beach was unbelievable, there are no words. I could go on and on in this review....book Casa Phil I promise you will not be disappointed!!!

60th Birthday Bash

We could not have been more pleased with our stay!!!! The home is absolutely stunning and the open air concept is exactly what we were hoping for. The beach is beautiful and just a short walk from the home and offers many Tiki bar type locations so an island cocktail is never far away. I have to say the the star this wonderful property is Jackie….our personal chef. Jackie is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Showing up each morning with a smile on her face and ready to prepare breakfast. Jackie is a FABULOUS cook and made anything we asked. Best advice is to give her a general idea(seafood, steak, chicken) and let her prepare her island creation. She was available throughout the day and happily made us refreshing cocktail creations. You must try her passion fruit juice…..absolutely the best. All in all a great stay and we will definitely return. Thanks again, Jackie.

faily getaway (from the New England cold!)

The property is absolutely beautiful: its open air plan and modern design is Architectural Digest worthy. The villa is perched on a hill with stunning ocean views, and is within walking distance of the local beach, just about 1/4 mile away, which means no driving necessary. The beach has nice waves for body surfing, and is dotted with charming open air beach bars and restaurants, on-the-beach masseuses, friendly beach dogs, locals and vacationers. It was not crowed at all. We spent our week relaxing and stayed close by, between the 2 adjacent beaches. Jaki and Yandis were lovely! They prepared breakfast and lunch for us most days (included in the villa rental), and we enjoyed 3 Dominican dinners as well. The Red Snapper was delicious! How fun it was to get to know them. Carlos checked us in and out seamlessly, and showed us the villa. He was available the entire time to answer questions and he helped us arrange surf lessons. Our experience at Casa Phil was top notch and we highly recommend it for families or groups! This was our first trip to the DR and we were very happy with Las Terranas.

Being able to stroll down to the beach is a treat, and it sounds like you made the most of the waves, beach bars, and easygoing vibe. Jaki and Yandis will be thrilled you enjoyed their breakfasts and Dominican dinners (the red snapper shout-out made their day!). And thank you for mentioning Carlos—he’ll be happy to hear the surf lessons worked out smoothly. It means a lot that your first trip to the DR felt so right and that Las Terrenas won you over. Open air relaxation

From the start, Carlos communicated everything necessary, and we arrived to a wonderful greeting from him, Jandice, and Jackie. The house was well-stacked with everything we had requested. The staff is so kind and accommodating, and in an unfamiliar location, having any and all meals we could want provided in the luxurious confines of the home was most welcome. The pool and built in views were home base for us throughout the week. We spent a few hours here and there at the beach, which we walked to in a few minutes. Even though we struck out on our self-guided spearfishing (if we went back, we might schedule an actual excursion for this), the beach was uncrowded, the water was wonderful, and the shade from all of the palm trees was wonderful. The home and the setting provides everything you could want in a vacation. Your only limiting factor will be if you are willing to ask for what you want. Ask Carlos and the ladies, and you will receive. I am highly likely to recommend this place to others and try to return soon myself. Thank you Phil, Carlos, Jackie, and Jandice for an amazing vacation!

Wonderful!

What a wonderful home away from home! 10 of us enjoyed a full week of fun in the sun (4 parents and 6 college boys) - it could not have been more perfect! Carlos was very patient with our many questions and grocery runs and Yaki, well, there are not words for how wonderful she was! She was kind, personable, and tended to our every need - she is now a part of our family:) We ate every meal at Casa Phil and Yaki even prepared picnic lunches for the beach - she is a gem! Staying at Casa Phil was a true vacation, and many memories were created.

Like your own private resort

Casa Phil is amazing! Andrea and Victor took such good care of us, it felt like staying with family. This house and view are stunning and the beach is very close and beautiful! Lots of small beach-side restaurants--but as others have said, none of them can compete with the meals you'll have right in your open-air dining room.

Amazing and beautiful

Casa Phil was an incredible experience for our entire group. We have been to DR before but usually go the tourist route in other areas. This time we decided to spend a bit more and get a true and rich Dominican Republic experience. Casa phil provided that for us!!! The view is amazing and the villa is magnificent! Carlos took care of everything we needed and was always available. Now that we are back home we miss Andreas cooking and are dreaming of returning again!

Why they chose this property

If you've never been to Las Terrenas before it might be difficult to explain this but this town is a unique place on earth, where sometimes time seems to stop and all the issues that make your daily life dissipate and to start living in harmony with nature and the elements surrounding you. I discovered Las Terrenas thanks to my mom in 2003 and then during a vacation here I had the opportunity to purchase a plot of land and this is how the story began...

What makes this property unique

Casa Phil is a dream house. It was built with care, love and sacrifice. We built it for our family and hence looked and though of all details during the planning and building process.
