We loved every minute of our stay. The owners were so nice and quick to respond. They made check in so easy and our place was perfect. You don’t need to bring anything extra! Can’t wait to stay here again.

One of the best properties

We come to Okoboji every summer and this property has been our favorite. It actually is one of the best properties we have stayed in through VRBO. The condo was very clean, very organized, and stocked with simple things that make a huge difference. Maggie and Rex made themselves readily available during our stay. We can’t wait to come back!!

Excellent stay for family with small kids

Overall this was an excellent place to stay. Our kids are ages 8, 6, 4, and twin 2 year olds. The bunk bed were perfect for the older kids and they had a pack n play available. They also had a high chair and step stools. We loved the deck and wonderful views. The condo was clean. The kitchen was very well stocked, we were impressed with this because we did a lot of cooking and they had everything we needed. The owners were very responsive via text to our questions/concerns. And of course it was awesome to be able to go to the waterpark. We would definitely stay here again.

On our 1st anniversary (over 40 years ago) we were headed for the Wisconsin Dells. We got a late start and saw that we were would be near Lake Okoboji by end of day. Neither of us had ever been to Okoboji, but my cousins (who fought like cats & dogs) would rent a camper every summer to go to Okoboji and they always had the time of their lives! So, we decided to stop for the night....and we stayed for the entire vacation! From the BEAUTIFUL lake, to rollerskating at the Majestic Palace, and of course Arnolds Park - we took it all in and had the time of our lives. Along came kids and jet skis and even more memories! Then came the new spouses and grandkids....and fortunately EVERYONE has the same connection to Okoboji! Our only hiccup was finding a place to stay, and even more so as our family grew. We always dreamed of having a place at Okoboji - one where we could gather as a family and one we could open up to other families so they could have the same amazing memories. We bought our condo January 2023 and spent 3 months going through it. It has been so much fun hearing from our guests about what they have enjoyed and their hope to return. We hope all of guests have a FANTASTIC time - that they feel at home and can't wait to come back!

Why they chose this property

Choosing to buy at Bridges Bay Resort made more and more sense to us the more time we spent at Lake Okoboji. The location is truly in the heart of the hub of where East meets West Okoboji. We have a beautiful view of the fireworks shot off on summer Saturday nights. We have breathtaking views of Lake Okoboji and incredible sunsets. We have docks that gets you to the lake to sit on benches and enjoy the views or to fish right off decks. There are 2 amazing restaurants on the property, which is so convenient! One (Bracco) is open air so open only from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The Waterfront Grille is open year round, 7 days a week. There is also a waterpark which is a pretty incredible amenity. In the summer you have access to indoor & outdoor waterpark, including a swim-up bar! All guests receive 6 passes daily to enjoy! The off-season finds the indoor waterpark with the same number of passes available on weekends. In addition, there is a game room (open 24 hours a day) and fitness center - available to all our guests. On the grounds you will also find a fully stocked pond for fishing AND a ZIP LINE!! Truly, there is fun for EVERYONE!! At the end of the day (or any other time for that matter), we find the view from our condo to be one of our favorite aspects of our location. Whether sitting outside on the big, spacious deck or inside around the fireplace on a cool night, there is such a feeling of peacefulness. Although the summer brings the crowds, we find all of the off-season to be beyond amazing. The colors in the fall, the snow that absolutely looks like glitter in the winter (I am NOT exaggerating!), or the excitement in spring as everyone is beginning preparation for another lake season....it is really a fabulous getaway ANY TIME!

What makes this property unique

We picked the name "Okoboji Sweet Retreat" for our condo as our goal was to create a getaway that brings a sense of peace, comfort, & joy to all who come! We wanted to honor "Okoboji" as this is where we are all choosing to create our memories. Here are some things that stand out to us that make our condo unique:

1) Every decoration & picture represents the Okoboji area.
2) Everything throughout the condo is new & was chosen for its specific place.
3) In the kitchen you will find some specialty items like an air fryer, Bullet blender, crockpot, Cuisinart coffee & K-Cup maker, 4-slice toaster, and QUALITY silverware & wine glasses.
4) As nights get cooler, the master bedroom offers a fireplace as well as a desk for those needed emails or zoom calls.
5) The closets in the 2 guest rooms offers 2 luggage racks AND 2 shelves where you can lay out your personal items.
6) The closet in the master bedroom has 4 luggage racks and MANY shelves for your items.
7) There are 2 full baths (one is attached to the master bedroom).
8) There is a laundry room with full-size washer/dryer for your use. Detergent is in the cabinet above the washer.
9) In addition to the towels for each bathroom you will find a laundry basket in the master closet with towels that you can take to the pool or lake.
10) To gather you may choose the round dining table (6 chairs), the kitchen bar (4 barstools), or the table & chairs on the deck.
11) You will find a remote in the master bedroom for the patio party lights - includes a dimmer & timer.
12) There are 2 sofa sleepers in the living room. These are like no other sleeper sofa. No need to remove cushions - just pull from the back of the center cushion & the bed opens. It is amazing & incredibly comfy!
13) The 3 Smart TVs offer Netflix, HULU, & Disney+.
14) The living room can seat a lot of people so comfortably with 2 couches, 2 recliners, & an additional chair - all gathering around the fireplace & TV!!
15) The LARGE deck overlooking East Okoboji!!
