Our 1st time in Newark the location of this property is not what We expected, Im sorry but the smell of the property was not good. We end up buying candles to be able to sleep, windows weren't secured, bathrooms door didn't locked, We had hard time parking our vehicles but i will say who ever was in charge of the property was a very nice person unfortunately the location is not to safe:( and people was staying in the 1st floor so we didn't feel secured!

Owner of the house lives there & did not want to leave

The host did not tell us that they lived there and when we arrived, we was not able to get into the property and had to call the owner multiple times and wait outside for over an hour… once the owner opened the bottom lock, I seen her go back into her room. I paid for the whole house for family and friends not a shared house… we asked a few times when will she be leaving and she said soon and never left… and kept their cars parked in the driveway.. the house is very old and needs a lot of updating and the refrigerator was unplugged and when we plugged it in it started smoking and we told the host and she said they will check it out and never came to check it out… you could tell this house was used as a rooming house and they were trying to just test out Vrbo.. the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling and we told the host as well and they did not respond… since we were only doing one night we stayed and left early in the morning, but would never book again… the area was OK definitely in the hood…. there is no living room in the house either. There is only a kitchen with three rooms on each floor.

Not wha I expected

Upon arrival house was ice cold , checked thermostat it said 50 degrees!!! If you know you are expecting guess that day prepare the warmth of house. Turn heat on took till the the next day to get the heat to rise to 74 degrees and we had infants my room NEVER got warm we slept in our coats and clothes till next day had to purchase a heater. Then there was 3 pots left inside oven with moldy food that looks like it been there forever had to throw all that out. Then the water in showers would not get hot we took cold showers. It took owner next day to respond about one text so responding with him was useless. The only thing I appreciated was it was big enough to accommodate my family., other than that I would NEVER rent this place again
