About this property

Experience “Splendor in The Mountains” 3 levels,5 bedrooms ,3.5 bath Sleeps 17!

Family-owned home since 1980. We recently renovated the entire home with new modern fixtures in the kitchen and bathrooms, locally milled wood floors, HVAC, Smart TV’s, WI-FI, . There are two interior fireplaces, one gas and the other wood burning. There is a large deck off the main floor and another one on the bottom floor nestled in the trees with market lights. There is an additional screened in sunroom for afternoon reading and naps. There is a huge firepit off the main floor and another fire pit down a path on the property. A perfect getaway for multi-families, group retreats, golf trips, or just a few. The main floor is just one step up from the driveway for anyone with limited or unpredictable mobility.

We allow animals (dog and cat lovers). The yard, however, is not completely fenced in.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds, gather used towels and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Please wheel large black trashcans to the end of the driveway on Sunday for Monday A.M. pick up. No loose trash should be in the cans, only full tied bags.
Please put both A/C units on Dry or Eco at 76 degrees in summer and 65 in winter.
Please make sure the gas fire place is off and both grill connections are in the off position at the house.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please burn only wood and paper in the fire pit(s) and basement fire place. Please do not add anything to the upstairs gas fireplace.

We had the best time at Splendor in the Mountains! The home was perfect in size for the 12 of us. The host was wonderful and very thoughtful with the information provided. The amenities and the stocked kitchen was perfect. They supplied everything we would have had in our own kitchens. We totally felt at home!

A great property; clean, nicely decorated, plenty of living and recreation space, plenty of parking. We had 15 family menbers for a week stay and had a great time at the house and in the Dillard area.

Christmas in the Mountains

We had a great stay and appreciated our hosts decorating for Christmas! There was plenty of space for our large family of 14 and dog to spread out. Lot of kids and bunk beds were great. Great local hikes to enjoy.Hosts were very responsive. Had a few minor issues but hopefully these get corrected for future guests.

Wonderful home!

Owners were easy to work with and made us feel welcome. Everything about the home was great - open family area with gas fireplace, great functioning kitchen, spacious bedrooms and LOTS of parking area (which is hard to come by in the mountains). And the fire pit is awesome!! It was too cold during our visit to take advantage of the large decks and screened in porch, but they are very nice! We definitely want to go back!!

Wonderful experience

The location was great. The house is large and accommodated all of our family. The two separate areas are nice to send the kids down to play or for two families. The kitchen is very well stocked with appliances. The outdoor fire pit was good for building a fire & making s’mores. We created somegreat memories. Pat was always available & returned text messages very quickly. I highly recommend this property.

Youth retreat

This was the perfect space for our small youth group. The girls had the bottom floor to themselves as the bunk room provided a good space. The college leaders had the top floor and the parent leaders had the main floor that allowed for cooking without disturbing anyone. We absolutely loved the living room area for our teaching sessions and game time. We did not have internet service but that was probably a good thing. Thanks for such an inviting space!

Great for large family!

We had 16 people stay at this lovely house for the long Labor Day weekend. Ages 70 to 5 months. This home had everything we needed for our stay. This was the most well stocked kitchen of any property I've ever stayed in! Spices, oil, coffee, filters, condiments, dishes, cooking utensils, they had everything! The KitchenAid appliances are very upscale and the dishwasher is so quiet I had to keep checking to make sure it was running! We loved the large table and played many games. Speaking of games there are darts & cornhole on the lower level. The upper fire pit is huge and amazing! Don't bring any firewood - there is a superb supply! If you have a large group I highly recommend this property!

This house was absolutely perfect for our large family vacation! There is plenty of room for all of us to feel comfortable and the main floor is large enough for all of us to gather together. The house had everything we needed for a fun, relaxing trip together and the property is beautiful. Communication with the owners was great, they are easy to talk to and respond very quickly. Amazing property that was perfect for our retreat group! I have never been to a better equipped rental home! The notebook the hosts put together was very helpful and Pat was incredible at communicating with us to make sure everything flowed smoothly and we had everything we needed. The kitchen had everything we needed and more! They’ve thought of everything and the decor is bright, inviting, and a really beautiful mix of vintage and modern. The seating is comfortable and easy to relax in, the dining table is large and comfortable, the beds were comfortable! The whole home is just welcoming and lovely!We enjoyed the large fire pit and had plenty of room for people to hang out while we were making s’mores. We also enjoyed that there was great space for us to gather all together when we wanted to, room for the teenagers to play games downstairs and the adults to be upstairs when we wanted to, and plenty of spaces to spread out for everyone to have some quiet alone time as well. Our kids really loved the dartboard on the lower deck and ate as many of their meals as we would allow at the table on that deck as well.I have stayed at a lot of rental homes for vacations and retreats and this is, hands-down, the best one I’ve ever been to!
