The yurts are great! The decor is adorable! The host really has all your needs covered and has every little last minute thing you forgot you'd need. We had 5 adults and there was plenty of room! Great view, very private. THIS PLACE WAS PERFECT Thank you John!!!!
We absolutely loved this place! The yurts exceeded our expectations (which were high). They were spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated, extremely clean, and SO comfortable! The couches, beds, and pillows were so soft and cozy. Best night’s sleep we’ve ever had on vacation. The location was very private and quiet and beautiful. A perfect get-away. John was very friendly and nice and easy to work with. He was available to answer any question or help in any way needed. We only wish we had stayed longer. Will definitely come back next time we visit this island. This place is a gem.
We had a great time here! John was friendly but not intrusive at all. It's a bit far from most places but that's why we chose this listing in the first place. This is a good spot to hit some of the big island's southern points, like the black and geeen sand beaches, Volcanoes NP/Kilauea, and escaping the city. We loved the yurts, they had just what we needed without being pretentious, a bit like "glamping".
Big Island Yurt Adventure was absolutely amazing!!Johns property has all sorts of local fruits and vegetables as well as a few animals to spend some time with, he even brought us up a pitcher of juice he made from fruits on his property. He had all the creature comforts all the way down to designer samples of cologne in the bathroom cabinets. This place was lacking not one single thing needed. At its elevation It was a cool 68ish in the mornings and just warm enough to remind you you were in Hawaii in the afternoon. And to top it off, One of my daughters left a little purse and a few things there and he had it in the freaking mail before we even made it back home. 10 out of 10And we will be back again
We loved our stay at the yurt. The host was very responsive and helpful. We did get a lot of wind and rain but that’s Hawaii for you. The yurts had everything we needed. The village had a grocery store and one of the best coffee shops in the area. It is rural so expect rooster calls and dogs barking.
Beautiful relaxing stay with helpful attentive hosts
What a delightful find for our family of 8!
Lots of room for everyone to spread out and relax between the 2 yurts. Beds and furniture were comfy, the interior lighting (esp around the inside top edge of the yurt) gave a cozy feel, and everything was spic and span clean. The deck with picnic table and shade umbrella would have been the idyllic place for us to gather while grilling and enjoying the amazing view and sweet breezes -- if we only would have had just one more night!
Mahalo, John and family -- we hope to be seeing you all again soon!!
My family (all 6 of us) loved staying here and would stay again!! Our only regret was staying for only 1 night! The host, John, was fantastic! Anyone who has stayed in Kona, try this place! For the price and the experience it is so worth it! I would definitely stay again when the opportunity arises.
My husband & I are renovating our forever home in Ocean View & needed somewhere to lay our heads at night. John’s yurt more than met the criteria. From being spotlessly clean to wonderfully decorated we couldn’t have asked for more. If I had to find fault with anything it was the large set of stairs one must climb to access the yurt (although John & his grandson are there upon your arrival to assist with your luggage, also upon checking out), & the bathroom is not physically attached to the yurt. Neither of these were mentioned in the description. However, we simply lived our stay & will be recommending it to all our friends & family who come to see us when we don’t have room.
