This was my 2nd time we have stayed here. The house has everything you could ask for. The beds are super comfortable, the view from the upper deck is breath taking, it is very clean and the location is perfect for beach access and fishing the Margaree River. It is also close enough to the new Cabot golf courses. I would definitely stay here again when I. One back to visit Margaree Harbour.

A lovely place with a spectacular view
This place is well-appointed, clean, spacious and has a beautiful view from the balcony where you'll want to have your morning coffee and happy hour drinks. The beds are super comfy. You can walk to the beach in 10 minutes or so, and pick up snacks at Laurence's store on the way. We keep coming back!

Everything you need, in a great location!
Clean, spacious, great communication! This rental is fully equipped with every appliance, utensil, towels and bedding you could want for an enjoyable vacation rental. We liked the easy highway access to Cheticamp, Mabou and Baddeck during our Celtic Colours visit. Thank you Ranald and James!

My family has stayed at this location in 2019 and very much enjoyed it. It is located near a few beaches and near our local family which was a big plus again this trip. We were able to visit family and catch up and then not overwhelm them with the 5 of us. It was a great place to enjoy the area. Lots of visits to the local beaches. Just remember there is only 1 bathroom. Not a big deal for us as we knew this going up there and we just communicated and it was not an issue. Thank you for offering up this spot for others to enjoy and explore the beautiful area. Highly recommend.

Disappointed
Confusion on date of check-in @ 5pm, having to wait for a team to arrive to prepare it for us, but we’re fairly compensated for it. Three bedrooms with pull out couch in living room, but the third bedroom had wash/dryer & hot water tank in it. It had everything we needed, but could have been a lot cleaner. The views are breathtaking.

Lovely stay up in beautiful Cape Breton
We had an amazing stay here earlier this fall. (So amazing that we extended the trip an extra day!) The house was extremely clean and had a well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Everything we needed to cook and clean was readily available. We loved the open living room/dining/kitchen area and the views from the deck were amazing. It was a little chilly outside, but I made a point to spend a little time out there with my coffee every morning. The Duck Cove restaurant around the corner also had a lovely and convenient breakfast. The home was extremely comfortable and a great place to unwind after a day of fishing and exploring. My husband was a huge fan of the location as it was close to all of the lower salmon pools on the beautiful Margaree River. It was also a quick ride to all of the places we wanted to visit as it is right off the Cabot Trail. It was truly one of the best vacations we have had in a very long time and we will definitely consider staying here again for future trips up to beautiful Cape Breton.
We certainly enjoyed our stay, very clean and comfortable. Three well apointed bedrooms with lots of linens in the bathroom. Kitchen was well equipped with space for two to cook and be with family for dinner. The view out to the small community of Margaree Harbor was beautiful. The evening sunsets and midnight stars unforgettable. We will definitely book again.
This was our 3rd time staying here and it won’t be the last! Everything was clean and comfortable and it was really easy to get in. My only criticism would be the bathroom toilet - it was a bit finicky to flush and would run if the handle wasn’t lifted back up manually. Would otherwise highly recommend this cottage! We will be back!

Loved open concert on main level.....was much larger than expected. Good size bedrooms and nice large bathroom. Well stocked kitchen. I would recommend this place.
Merci!
The pictures don’t do justice to the beauty of the view from the 2nd floor living area! The cottage is clean and cosy and fully equipped with everything needed to make it home away from home. Ranald the caretaker is extremely responsive and helpful. The location makes pretty much all of Cape Breton accessible and we made trips up to the National park to the north and to Louisbourg to the east.
Had a fantastic stay in the Margaree Harbour Guest House. Everything that we needed for our stay was included. The cottage was spotless at our arrival and I will rent again next year! It's hard to beat that view too!

This house suited us perfectly.

Wonderful stay!
This was our second time staying here, and it was even better this time around. Very relaxing and comfortable stay. We had everything we needed. We used the BBQ almost every night, and while it was tricky to start our first time, it gave us no trouble the rest of the week.

Nice, comfortable home, close to the river!
I've been to the Margaree Harbour Guest house numerous times and am impressed every time! It has a great view of the harbour, on a quiet street, very comfortable beds and only 10 minutes from the lower pools on the river. It's a great feeling to only be a short drive from home after a long cold day of salmon fishing! I will definitely be back!

An absolute gem
Stayed here with my parents and my children. Loved the view and the porch. Loved the living space. Preparing our own meals was important to us. Dishwasher made the vacation. We got scallops from the Lobster pound across the bridge (Island Sunset), and fresh salmon at the Margaree co-op. The co-op also has alcohol available. We liked the nearby craft shops - two Mac pottery mugs and more), Cape Breton Clay (pottery trays and serving dishes, delicately painted, check out Bell's depiction of fiddleheads). There is a good selection of wool and hand knit sweaters at the craft and ice cream place. We went up to The Barn at Normaway Inn to hear fiddlers. They were a treat. Place was spotless and there is laundry (washer, dryer) on site. Wild blueberries for the picking behind the litte church. There is a small grocery store near the light house. Prices are good, and they have second hand books too.

Why they chose this property
As a repeat visitor to the area, primarily to salmon fish on the famous Margaree River, I have had the pleasure of renting a number of cottages over the past several years, including this one. When the opportunity was presented to own and share this with friends, family and other avid fisherman and those simply looking for a relaxing seaside getaway, I couldn't pass it up!
