The house features a contemporary decor, the large glazed areas offer panoramic views across the surrounding hills to the valley. The home includes a balcony, outdoor terrace with all conditions for barbecues and garden area with fruit trees and aromatic herbs. All indoor and outdoor areas are accessible only to guests. The house it’s the ideal place for relaxing holidays were you can reach several hiking trails, have a thermal bath at “Poça da Beija” right out the door and then sit back by the fireplace.

The house consists of 2 rooms and 2 sanitary facilities, with a living room and a fully equipped kitchen where meals can be arranged. Both bedrooms have access to a balcony with panoramic views. A good night of sleep can be assured in the comfortable beds with the background sound of the water stream next to the house.

Property is located inside the protected landscape area of Furnas, and just 500m from the terra nostra park, 1km from Lagoa das Furnas and 1.5 km from caldeiras das Furnas. In the parish of Furnas there are several restaurants with traditional Portuguese food. The nearest beach is Praia do Fogo at Ribeira Quente (10km), a small fishing village where there are also several restaurants. João Paulo II Airport in Ponta Delgada is located 45km away (approx. 40min).

Very convenient to the Thermal Pools.

Nice property near the thermal pools. The unit has small bedrooms but large downstairs sitting room and kitchen. It is worth noting that there is one full bath on first floor and one on second floor, but both bedrooms are on the second floor. All the basics were there that we needed. Monica was very nice and met us when we checked in. It had a nice balcony with privacy, good internet connection. Parking was on street. Unit is very centrally located to Furnas and the entire island.

Stunning!

Stayed for 4 nights at the house in Furnas. The location is the best right at the poco don beja hot spring. We started our morning there and ended our evening. The house is well equipped with a dark towels for the springs , 2 house coats, kitchen was well stacked ( does need more coat hangers for hanging clothes) and the tv was really small and couldn't get USB to work on it but we didn't have anytime to watch tv anyway. Hosts met us at the house and explained everything thoroughly. He gave several suggestions for food, and left us with some fresh bolos levados and jam. Would recommend this place to anyone! Truly unique.

Gute Lage

Das Haus ist etwas Indie Jahre gekommen und ein paar Erneuerungen wären nicht schlecht. Böden und Bad waren sauber, aber abgenutzt. Die Sauberkeit in der Küche hat uns hingegen sehr gestört. Eine Grundreinigung ist dringend notwendig. Und eine Kontrolle, ob die vorherigen Gäste das Geschirr gut gereinigt haben.

Toller Aufenthalt in Furnas

Ein wunderbares Ferienhaus in Furnas direkt neben dem Thermalbad. Die Ausstattung ist hervorragend, wir haben nichts vermisst. Die Betten sind bequem. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war unkompliziert. Das Auto kann man fußläufig in der Nähe an der Straße parken. Wir können die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen.

Un cadre magnifique. La maison est très bien équipée, y compris avec des consommables (de base et même au delà) et très propre. Elle est située à côté des bains "poça da Dona Beija", avec commerces et parking à proximité. L'hôte est toujours disponible, que ce soit par mail ou par sms. Je recommande !

Furnas is really special.

We stayed at this property the entire visit and loved it. Easy to get around the island from here and the host was very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. The only real issue was that there wasn't alot of space in the second bedroom to put our clothing and other items. There's not any bureau or closet. Other than that, super location and great hosts.

Sehr gute Lage und wunderschönes Haus zum Wohlfühlen. Die Küche ist sehr gut mit Geschirr ausgestattet. Leider gibt es in einem der zwei Schlafzimmer und Badezimmer keine Ablagefächer (aus dem Koffer leben !!) Wir danken den beiden Damen für den netten Empfang und Erklärungen bei der Schlüsselübergabe.

Een heerlijk huis op een fantastische locatie. Er staat alleen vermeld dat het een huis is voor 5 personen maar er staan maar 4 bedden. Een plank op de grond met een dun matrasje kun je geen volwaardig bed noemen.

Our family of four enjoyed our stay at the house. Town, small grocery, hot springs, caldera and the lagoon are all within reasonable walk. We would have liked lounge chairs on the patio to relax in the sun but other than that the house suited our needs.

The best part of our vacation!

We LOVED this house. I wish I could keep this place a secret. It was perfect. Very quiet at night. The location and everything about it is perfect. We walked to the thermal pools next door every morning and evening. It’s €6 per person for the whole day. The house has a laundry machine which was great, and our clothes air dried quickly. The kitchen is well stocked. The place is very clean. The owners were very helpful with recommendations, and they responded to our questions quickly. We had to park down the road, so if you don’t like to walk or climb stairs it could be a challenge. We can’t wait to go back.

completely lovely

Being high above the road and activity was so relaxing. Looking out over the rooftops to the surrounding green hills was thrilling as well. We enjoyed our short walks around town. This is really a perfect location. Our stay was 5 nights and 1 more would have allowed another exploration out of town in another direction. The thermal baths were a first for us and though we were not sure, we loved them.

Beautiful house in perfect location

We stayed in Paulo's house in February half term and the choice of place in Azores could not have been better. The house is very beautiful and modern, and has everything you'd need, there were even robes and towels for the hot springs. The location of the house is perfect, particularly if you're not after a beach holiday (though the beach is only a few minutes drives from the house). We did lots of walks from the house, and enjoyed the hot springs, literally 20 metres from the house, almost every day. Paulo was our ideal host as well, always there from the start of our booking but never in our way. We will surely recommend the house and Azores to anyone!

Excellent get away

We stayed in Furnas for three days in Dec. This house is on the outskirts of the town center, next to one of the thermal baths. (We walked over in our bathing suits and robes the owners provided with the house.) It's a quite location, and the house was clean and comfortable. There's a lovely patio that would be an added bonus in the warmer months. The owner, Maria, met us on arrival and came bearing bolos and fruit from her yard. She couldn't have been more gracious or helpful. Overall, it was a good base to explore Furnas and environs.

Lovely property in a fantastic location

The drive up to Furnas is probably one of the prettiest drives in the world, and sets you up for a great stay. This villa is located in Furnas, with the main bathing area on your doorstep (literally). There are bars, restaurants, beautiful park areas, and calderas all within easy walking distance. The villa is well appointed, with comfortable beds, and all the other facilities listed. We were met by the owner on arrival, who was able to answer any queries. We toured the island during our stay, and we all agreed Furnas was the best location to be based from, it's a lovely quiet spot, and very picturesque. Parking is limited, but you'll get nearby (even in the height of summer). Villa was clean and tidy, with everything we needed. We would definitely come back.

Perfect holiday house in Furnas area!

We (family with 2 kids) had a perfect week stay at Casa das Furnas: the house is modern and well equipped and just like in the pictures. We were warmly welcomed by the owner Paolo, who showed us around the house and who gave us some excursion/hiking tips in the (nearby) area. The house itself is perfectly located in Furnas, next to the thermal pools and town center. Some hiking routes you can easily start from the house.

Wir haben uns gut erholt!

Absolut Empfehlenswert! Mietwagen erforderlich um den Rest der Insel zu sehen! Das zweigeschossige Haus liegt am Dorfrand von Furnas. Vom kleinen Vorgarten oder vom oberen Balkon hat mein einen guten Blick über einen Teil des Furnas-Tales. Zu Fuß ist man in ca. 15 Minuten in der Dorfmitte (Kirche). Die Einrichtung ist modern und zweckvoll (IKEA), die beiden kleinen Schlafzimmer oben waren für uns (Ehepaar mit Teenager-Tochter) optimal. Die Ausstattung war wie beschrieben, auch die angepriesene Sauberkeit kann von uns bestätigt werden. Bei vier Personen könnte es Meinungsverschiedenheiten bei der Zimmerwahl geben (1x Doppelbett u. eingebauter Kleiderschrank, 1x 2 Gästebetten ohne Schrank). Die Betreuung durch die Vermieter war gegeben, jederzeit hätten wir Mängel per Haustelefon melden oder die Nachbarn um Hilfe bitten können. Leere Gasflasche wurde in 10 min ersetzt. Den Aussenkamin habe ich mehrfach genutzt (Grund siehe unten). Der rauschende Bach aus dem Poca da Dona Beja hört sich nachts wie ein sehr starker Regenschauer an und hatte auf uns eher eine beruhigende Wirkung. In 100m Entfernung ist ein kleiner SPAR-Laden, der alles Lebensnotwendige und besonders alles für das Frühstück hat (man sollte aber vor 09.00 Uhr dort gewesen sein, sonst sind die leckeren kleinen Gebäcke und Törtchen schon weg). Gleichzeitig habe ich dort immer einen Espresso (0,60 EUR) oder Milchkaffee (1,00 EUR) getrunken. Direkt vor der Haustür liegt die heiße Quelle der Poca da Dona Beja, die vor ein paar Jahren privatisiert und zu mehreren kleinen Heißwasserpools (39 Grad) ausgebaut wurde. Der diesjährige Eintrittspreis (2016) beträgt 4,00 EUR pro Person. Er wurde jedes Jahr erhöht & die Anwohner (Furnenser), die auch bezahlen müssen sind sehr erbost darüber! Man kann aber am Tag beliebig oft hineingehen, an der Kasse beim Verlassen melden. Geöffnet 07.00 - 23.00. Das Rangieren auf dem ab 12.00 Uhr immer überfüllten Parkplatz war für uns der EINZIGE Standortnachteil. Wir sind selbst sind mehrfach im Park des Terra-Nostra Hotels gewesen. Eintritt 6,00 EUR pro Person. Öffnungszeiten 10.00-19.00 Uhr. Neben dem großen Thermalteich (Wasser wie bei uns) ist dort der große, herrliche Park in dem man immer ein ruhiges Plätzchen für ein Picknick findet. Das im Internet so hochgelobte Essen habe ich in Furnas nicht gefunden. Fachliches Unvermögen trifft auf Selbstüberschätzung! Tipp: Der Campingplatz in Furnas oder das Restaurant am Hafen von Ribeira Quente.

This property is used by our family since 1985, we used to rent it for summer holidays, in 1999 my parents decided to buy it, in 2005 it was very degraded when we decided to renew it. The new architecture project granted a new look to the house while respecting the context of the house.
