Be the first on the lake this year with kayaks or to take a plunge! Then warm up in the outdoor sauna. This lakeside cottage features a marvelous sunroom overlooking Lake Elinor, a large kitchen and living room that are perfect for entertaining. The lake is popular to fish with depths to 38 ft. We provide kayaks, peddle pontoon, & bicycles.
23 minutes to Crystal Mountain, 28 minutes to Caberfae, 13 minutes to the Big M cross country skiing and 7 minutes to the snowmobile trailhead in Kaleva.

Great Spot!

Beautiful property, close to many things to explore or stay right in the backyard at the lake! Kid friendly- loved that the lake house had a crib available, made it so easy!

Brethren Lakehouse

Overall the lakehouse was exactly what we wanted. We loved having the kayaks to play around on in the lake and the bikes to ride around town. We'd stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

Fantastic retreat!

The cabin was clean, organized, and full of thoughtful amenities and conveniences. Everything in the kitchen was stocked and labeled. We had five large guys and we slept well and had ample room to enjoy hanging out together or spending time on our own. The lake provided some fishing fun and beautiful views. We saw some fresh-water jellyfish. Perry cool! We would highly recommend this spot and will be booking again!

Hello everyone! I'm Alison, I was born in Manistee, Michigan. My husband and I are blessed with 3 daughters, ages 8, 5 & our special needs baby is almost 2 years old!

In 2022, we began attending our local Mennonite church, which has been a huge blessing to our family! We are so grateful we are able to have our children attend their Christian based private school. Being apart of their community has brought us closer to the Lord and our church family is very supportive while we are on our new life journey to become more like Christ everyday.

We are so grateful to live in Northern MI to enjoy our favorite outdoor activities, such as hiking nature trails, swimming, kayaking, Honda 90 Trail riding, ice skating, skiing and snowmobiling.

I'm a stay-at-home mom and now also an Airbnb and VRBO host and really learned to love it! Before I was married, my favorite job was housekeeping at a Christian family camp and today I am still using what I learned when cleaning the Lake House. My goal is to always provide a clean and comfortable home for our guests.

We were very fortunate to have found this beautiful house on Lake Elinor and to have the opportunity to share it with others.

Why they chose this property

Brethren is a centrally located little town that is not too far away from some favorite things to do all year round! Lake Michigan, Manistee, Tippy Dam, Crystal Mountain, Traverse City... So many things to do in all directions. But my family's favorite is to just enjoy what the lake house has to offer like swimming, kayaking, riding bikes, and hiking at Spirit of the Woods! Brethren is a quiet town and everyone is so friendly!

Lake Elinor Retreat is unique because it has 266' of lake frontage with a beautiful sunroom overlooking it. The layout of the house is very family oriented and the large yard will keep of the family busy playing outdoor games!
