Quiet little neighborhood and a nice getaway. A few things that would improve the rental- more comfortable beds, cozier sofa with a place to put your feet up. Overall, was a great rental for the price and would do it again!
We were visiting for a concert at Fort Warden so the location was convenient. Watching and hearing nature from the living room in the morning was the highlight. The bedrooms are cozy (small) and the mattress and linens need a refresh. The shower has strong water pressure but is dated and dark. Loved the location.
We had a lovely time at the property and found everything we needed to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The cottage was beautifully decorated and cozy. We spent each evening on the patio with the beautiful view playing board games and even roasting marshmallows in the fire pit with our 8 year old. The area was very quiet and we all slept well in the comfy beds. We will stay here again as my hometown is in nearby in Port Townsend. We spent one day hiking on Marrowstone Island, a local favorite, and the other day in Port Townsend visiting friends and soaking in town life, everything was close to the cottage so it made it easy to navigate different activities. I highly recommend this rental.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The place is clean, cozy yet spacious, and nicely supplied. The bed was great and the waterline view is distant but beautiful! The setting is remote but not isolated, and the place was warm and welcoming. The extra touches were thoughtful as well. We enjoy cooking and found the kitchen supplies on the low side, but still workable. The location is also good, in a nature setting but less than 5 minutes to a grocery store. Overall a great value and lovely place!

Misleading Listing and Uncomfortable Stay
This property was a major disappointment, starting with the misleading “ocean view,” which is far from what was advertised in pictures. The unit is situated behind two other homes, which obscure the view. The home felt like a rushed flip, with more effort put into cheap decorations than actual comfort. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Despite a shiplap ceiling and fresh paint, it was clear the property was barely upgraded from its original state, giving the impression of a home that was hastily converted for rental. Overall, it did not meet the standards expected from the listing or the price, and I would not recommend it to future guests.

Better in the photos
The photos make this look better than it is. The structure doesn’t appear to be an actual house, as the walls and cabinets are made of plywood. There was a hole that had been kicked into one of the doors and to cover it up, there had been fake flowers shoved into it. There were not basic things like a wine opener or coffee filters. The snacks that were mentioned in the listing appeared to be random things left in the fridge by previous guests ( one energy drink, one Diet Pepsi). But worst of all there were homedics scent diffusers in both bedrooms that produced so much smell coverage that we had to wash every single item we had taken with us when we got home. The VRBO wreaked of air freshener so badly that we all had headaches immediately. There was a smell catcher in the kitchen, too, so we wondered what they were covering. Bathtub was gross. None of us wanted to shower there. The host was communicative and responsive about the coffee filters, but there was ZERO bedding for the fifth member of our party ( listing says it sleeps 5), so he slept in his car! Would definitely NOT recommend
This place was cute but photos were deceptive- this is not on the water edge- getting there would involve a long walk past other houses. The kitchen was well stocked however the fridge smelled like raw fish. My main issue was cleanliness- there was a used bar of soap and wet washcloth in the shower. Also the shower liner and tub mat were covered in black mold. I had to leave a day early due to cleanliness issues. The house was very hot and hard to get air flow even with all windows open and 2 fans running.
We absolutely loved this adorable and efficient retreat! It was the perfect location while my daughter and I were exploring the area (Olympic Natl Park); everything was exactly as listed and we had privacy and peace. We had a foggy morning and enjoyed the pretty garden! It was wonderful; highly recommend!
