I'm a part-time yoga teacher with a passion for travel and photography. I have one beautiful smart daughter. We both love to take long walks on the beach and spend time on our veranda, drinking coffee and taking in the fabulous views. We are both very active and to try to do as much as possible by way of bike riding or walking or the gym. We love kayaking and hiking as well and paddle boarding (quite popular in Sayulita).
Anita purchased this House in 2010
Why Anita chose Sayulita
Sayulita was recommended to us by friends and we found our home after looking all over Mexico. It's a direct flight from Calgary (4.5 hours) and an easy 40 minute drive from the airport. We love the smal town feel with cobblestone streets and every-one recognizes you. The coffee shops, art galleries and stores make for fun strolls through the centre of town. The restaurants offer wonderful food at amazingly low prices. Plenty of fresh seafood and moqitos!!!
What makes this House unique
Location, location, location! We are at the end of beach road with a spectacular view of the ocean, beach and whole town. The house sits up on a little hill only 2 minutes walking distance from the beach (150 yards). It is so private in our yard you could take a nude dip in the pool. All you hear is the waves and geckos - no dogs or roosters like in many other parts of town! (We found out the hard way!). You can walk to town via the beach and arrive in 12- 15 minutes.

Super kid-friendly, gorgeous villa
We visited Casa de la vida for 8 days with our 3 and 5 year old children. We all loved it! The pool was wonderful and we spent entire days in it. It felt safe with the kids since you have to go down a big step off the deck to get in. We felt very comfortable letting the kids play on the deck. The view from the pool is just incredible. The house is up a steep hill and a little bit of a hike into town but the quiet is definitely worth it. We did the walk with our kids several times, and it was fine. We found that taxis were very easy to access. They came quickly, were clean and inexpensive (70 pesos to most places). Azucena cooked us a wonderful meal and was very pleasant. The bedrooms were comfortable and we all slept well while we were there. Our kids loved the art work all over the house and the amazing rock showers. They felt like there were showering in a volcano! Sayulita is adorable, friendly and full of delicious food. We really couldn’t have enjoyed our time any more! Thanks so much Anita!
A beautiful house with a nice ocean view
Azucena was really kind and friendly...she made us feel like if we were in my own house....House was clean and had an spectacular ocean view.
Thanks for the great time Anita !!!
Location is great close to the beach, far enough from the noise of town.
the house is perfect for a small group 2 large bed rooms and one smaller.
The pool and the deck was our favorite place to hang and enjoy the view.
See you next year!!
Incredible atmosphere and indoor/outdoor living space. Short walk to town. Shorter walk to the beach. Azucuena's cooking was fantastic and there were always leftovers for breakfast the next day. We would absolutely return for another stay!
We were on the property for the lunar eclipse and it couldn’t have been more magical. Azucena prepared an arrival dinner for us that was spectacular. The beds were comfy, the amenities just as described. Our 4 generations of women had a lovely time. We will be back!
Lovely Location in Sayulita
We really enjoyed this house. The veranda and pool are lovely especially at sunset. The beach is a short walk down the hill and town is a 15 minute walk along the beach. Far enough away from the hubbub of the city center to be mostly quiet. Now that the back room has been expanded to fit two single beds, it was perfect for our two girls. We even had one person sleep on the hanging bed to fit our total of eight. This time of year he did not have issues with bugs but did need ear plugs to help him sleep. Kitchen was a mishmash of items but we could easily cook most of our meals at home. The walk through the jungle to the next beach was lovely and we even were able to watch some baby turtles making their way to the sea. We would definitely stay here again.
